There is no "comfy wageslave" jobs in latin america. You either work 16+ hours or you starve. So latinos who draw are either rich and have had all the tools and teachers (Humberto Ramoz, Genzoman) or so fucking dedicated they beat poverty through drawing (Reiq, most mexicans in american industries).

Any technique you rely on as a crutch will weaken you as an artist by boxing your abilities in. You are supposed to learn his basic construction for the sake of placement and volume, not as a gospel for creating.

Loomis himself in his own dead words emphasizes the experimentation of head shapes and varying your subject matter to create different people.
