I haven't had time to draw anything since I started university + a part-time job, which was 3 years ago sadly. I'll sometimes just doodle in MS paint with a mouse between shifts. I just think I'll get back into it some day so lurk /ic/.

I used to draw a lot of crap on iScribble as a teen, had my first tablet and drawing with others was something I enjoyed. A lot of the time users would add hearts or messages next to a drawing they liked, or if they were bored, attempted to draw your drawing in their version on the same canvas.

In pic related I drew the drawing on the right, took me a while because I was trying to make it "realistic" with the hair and nose. I was proud of it for a moment, then another user got into the chatroom and within a few minutes drew something much better.
I kind of miss these times. Are there any good drawing-together sites?

I had some bizarre concept of human children being raised by robots designed to look like stuffed animals, while the weird alien horrors controlling everything spied on them...

But I understood nothing about digital painting, my mastery of anatomy and rendering was lacking, and it ended up creepy for all the WRONG reasons.

You've done a lot of different stuff. Nice! I know you didn't really ask for critique but I'll still say a couple of things:

- Stop doing shadows with black. Think about the ambient lighting in the scene and do the shadows/fill light with that.

- Either do slightly better human characters in your landscapes (or use photos) or just don't have them. Your rendering is really nice but both the canal scene and "don't jump" work much better without the figures imo. You only need them for scale in stuff like that and I could absolutely get a sense of scale from your images (which is good!).

But yeah. I feel you. I just tell people I draw lizard people or something stupid like that and they usually stop asking questions. I'm actually getting back to graphic design now as I think it would also benefit my illustration bullshit.
