Kim Noble is a woman with schizophrenia and DID (multiple personality disorder)
Those definitions are a little shaky
but her life (from what i gather) is really quite interesting
She switches usually at specific things, like having a meal, or meeting a certain person. When going for a bath she becomes the "spirit of water".
As far as i know none of her personalities are particularly violent, just kind of varying people.
Her memories are also separated to a degree. DIfferent personalities will have different emails and passwords that other ones cannot access.
She's claimed to be a part of a pedophile ring, as well as possibly claiming to have been a victim of an acid attack. Idk about the validity of either of these claims.

But her art is really interesting. Its not all like these two pieces but these sorts of pieces are by far her most popular.
They're very dirty and peeled, and have an interesting mix between being symbol drawn and containing actual elements of perspective. Oftentimes in her most popular works there's themes of children (children being portrayed as smaller humans) being abused in various ways.
I suggest looking her up. I only have a rough idea of her life. It's all very interesting.

they are low quality in many, many ways. Sometimes there's some actual perspective and form, but a good portion of it is childish and symbol drawn.
I never claimed otherwise. I am fully aware of how bad they are.

but anon what you appear to not understand is that this is part of the appeal. it makes it more vague and disturbing. regardless of whether she's capable or not of more technically complex works, the pieces themselves are effective.

let's imagine if they were photorealistic depictions of pedophiles, in full perspective, properly rendered, and the paintings were in good condition.

they would have a vastly different effect on you than the brutish, child like, peeling paintings.

the fact that these paintings are so badly made leaves much more to your imagination and interpretation. they aren't photographs of fucked up shit. they're badly made shapes and colors meant to represent fucked up scenarios.
if they're photographs they would tell you what's going on. but as they are now they only just elude to what's going on. if you look up more of her paintings they are generally all like this- crude and vague. your imagination will always be worse than reality, and these paintings (whether intentionally or not) use that effect.

if you look at some of the other paintings posted here you'll see that artists like zdzislaw beksinski uses the same effect. you never truly know what's happening and it uses your imagination. they're vague.
