I feel like this generations biggest artistic movement is anime. Much like others in the past like Romanticism or Art Nouveau.

It has absolutely encapsulated so many artists and the general public. The medium has been fine tuned since its creation to the point that people want to copulate with art. People actually want to fuck artwork so badly that it drives them into depression or other anti-social behaviors.

Anime is one of the pinnacles of artwork even if it is widely stigmatized.

What is the type of environment that compels people to start grinding on body pillows of their favorite cartoon character instead of chasing after 3dpigs? I for one embrace this spectrum of autism if it brings us some of that autism bucks, people will pay top dollar to see their characters getting sexed up by whatever fantasies they're obsessed about it is that obsession which inspires them to spend hundreds of dollars in order to create a symbol derived form their thoughts and ideas just take look at Furries and how much they invest in their suits and artists that support their characters - thousands of dollars.

People obsess over literally anything, anime is just made and marketed with that obsession in mind. Cheap and shallow pleasure that is pandering to weak or troubled minds, if you will. Anime can be art, but the market is so glutted that the industry only cares about profit. There's almost no artistic value left. And what still is there are mostly adaptions of other forms of media. It's much easier to find interesting manga because often it is is the talent and vision of one artist alone and not a whole studio that cares only about their margins. Anime already reached it's prime in the last century, most of what is produced today is just soulless rubbish that is mass produced for mindless consumers.
