There’s a pixel art general every now and then and there are maybe a couple dozen pixel artists on here that contribute. Go ahead and start one if there’s none in the catalog. They go really slow though and I guess they don’t happen as often since the slower nature of pixel art means there’s fewer original content.

The only people who post their pixel art in these things are fuckers who can't fucking draw and are using the myth of "you don't have to learn how to draw to do pixel art because they aren't subject to the same fundamental aspects of art that make any other sort of graphic medium appealing" like goddamn fucking morons. So the threads have those people and a couple shitposters and the occasional dumb fuck who says "don't use black outlines" and that's pretty much it until the thread dies.

It' isn't very tedious, even in the beginning. It gets harder obviously with bigger pieces but if you're starting out make sprites in the 32x32 range at the very max.

It doesn't have to be that big. Some games scale comfortably inside a window that doesn't take up the whole screen. As long as everything is readable without having to get too close to the screen you should be OK. I usually scale my art by 300%. I think this one is at 200% though.
