On one hand we have orderly places like artstation, instagram, twitter, facebook gtoups, etcetera. These places signify insincerity, triumph of mediocrity. Presiding there would be stooping down to those qualities.

On the other hand we have disorderly places like here, which signify unbridled jealousness, petty squables, uncertainty and the usual insanity.

An artist should be above qualities of both places. But how come? Is there nothing left in this homogenized time?

I should add to the list of foundational qualities of orderly places a sense of alienation.

I personally don't dabble in the usual crafts touted here but attached to this response is a prime representation of the typical image manipulations I make in Photoshop.

I don't get it. Where did Michelangelo share his work free from the commoners?

The way i see it you can only revert this "mediocrity" back by making it hard to produce images again.

The reason they didn't allow any retard to draw in the past was that grinding lapis lazuli costed a shitton of money, and you wouldn't want Tumblr splatting it all over some uggo tranny OC's hair while costing you your youngest daughter and three donkeys.

Does my judgement offend you? In old times, classical virtues were standart, even if artists as people themselves could be flawed, they respected those values. Now it seems, it expected of popular artists to act like door-to-door and used car salesmen. I wont post my pictures, because the discussion at hand is not about that. My language doesn't look colloquial because mainly learned english through books, and I think it more beautiful, the way people spoke in old times.

Missing comma
>the list of foundational qualities of orderly places a sense of alienation.
Ambiguous subject, lack of quotation marks to specify the direct object.
>it expected of popular artists
>and I think it more beautiful, the way people spoke in old times
Oh, the irony.

I can probably find more but those stood out when I scanned through your tirade.

It's always been like this. But instead of doing my furry diaper OC, you had to do a portrait of my ugly wife smiling with a pear on her hand.

Only niggers get threatened by not-informally written language. More so on a board that should understand about personal expression.

Can't even discern "its" versus "it's" subconsciously, let alone using "it" in their place? Post your work so at least you can fall back to something else that isn't so poorly structured.

An artist is a craftsman and nothing else. It's a mistake to consider yourself superior to anyone.

That's like saying people who draw realism consider themselves superior to people who draw cartoons.
Your perception of OP as arrogant comes from the same place someone who considers himself superior to others would derive it from.

Woah, maybe he should spend some more time drawing and less typing 50% of 4chan's posts.

Stop acting retarded, I'm ESL and am by no means claiming to have domain of English, the whole argument surrounds people projecting some superiority complex over OP just because he likes to use the language in a less straight-forward fashion.

fags be writin like this and noone gives a shit (should tho)

Holy shit ignoring OP's desire to speak in an unnecessarily complicated way, he can do what he wants.

What do you mean by artstatin and places signifying insincerity? You can post what you like there as honest as you like.

The artist shouldn't care about himself, only his art is important, he just makes the art. If the artist were art he would be hung up on the wall in the gallery too.

I think the issue is not a lack of places where you can show off your work but simply that no one really wants to see it. You know deeo down that that's the case, so instead of risking rejection, which you would inevitably face, you lie to yourself and pretend that there is nothing wrong with you or your art, but that everyone else is wrong.
