Also, do you think having a set schedule is necessary for improvement, for example focus on head construction for the month of march.

I'm NEET, so I draw as much as I can. That being said, my current condition doesn't let me do much for half the day.

seriously, are you missing an arm or something?

Pretty much. As soon as I wake up, I spend the first half of the day meditating. If all goes accordingly, I can project this "phantom limb" that lets me get a reasonably good grip on light objects, like a tablet pen for instance. From there, I can start grinding my usual figure studies.

Some days I don't get lucky. Even the slightest disturbance can break this cycle and I have to start the process all over again. Damn noisy neighbors.

A schedule enforces discipline, and discipline is what will get you through the days where you'd rather slack off. So yes, I do think a schedule is the best way to improve. Even if you're only drawing 20 minutes a day, it adds up quick.

Post work.

>> No.3326099

3 pages a day(unless I'm doing a painting study) totaling 2-6 hours.

1 page gestures warm up(master studies(did kjg today, croquis cafe, and then imagination
1 page of form exercises like boxes and organic forms as well as more complex stuff like houses and shit
1 page of cloth studies( this is the one I substitute for example i might do head studies instead or animal drawing but form and gestures are essential so i do it everyday)

And then every now and then I try to make something finished either a comic or an illustration. I'm pretty lazy/busy so this schedule works well for me.

I try to do it every day if I can, even if it's just a scribble. It can be very hard to balance hobbies with school/work, so don't beat yourself up over not drawing a finished piece every single day.
Having a social media like instagram devoted to your art helps a lot because the only way to keep / gain followers is posting every day.
