I'm not sure if this question really goes here, but does anyone have any good figure reference of men? I'm trying out the art pose model stuff I downloaded form cgpeers after I realized all the Proko images I had were sorta garbage. I think it's the lens he shoots with, but some models heads seem much too big for their bodies. The Yoni one was the worst I think. I'll be using the photos for a figure course so they have to be of better quality so I can zoom in and see all the muscles and shit.

I can understand both English and German but I bought the English version because I'm slightly more proficient in that than I am in German. I do think being able to read the accompanying text is necessary to make the most out of the book. You can skip the first part about the history on anatomy study for artists if you want to, but it will go into describing exercises after that. Sucks that the book is so expensive for you, I bought it for roughly €50, which isn't cheap but I don't regret getting it. I don't have the time to scan it, since it's a very hefty book and I'd rather spend my free time on other things. Maybe you can find it secondhand or try importing it from somewhere where it's less expensive?

The Expressive Sketching one is a good book that helps you comprehend how crosshatching and strokes work (a must IMO).

Frank Lohan is a good step by step guide on how to draw and harry borgman teaches you how to mix media

Arms & Armor Pictorial Archive pictures are easy to deconstruct

I just was saying. The fact that the master Mister Guptill is missing here says a lot about the creator of this list. It does not mean his books are the only one I have read and worked with.

I'm not saying that Guptill is wrong or anything like that but the manga book has a lot of good lessons related to the use of materials and process in the creation of comics and the like, fuck you saying there is nothing good to come out of that book that's just a blatant lie

I guess it's not the best book to start with (since it assumes you already have some skill drawing and that) but is far from not being useful

If this is the 'perfect list' for manga comic drawing. Fine! no argue with you here.
I did not say nothing good to come out of that book. I just do no think this is the best of the books available. If the manga book is an inspiration and get people to pick up paper and pens. Fantastic!

If you want to become good in traditional techniques then this is not the list. Leave out the manga book. Guptill's book should have been mentioned first. And the rest is for fun and inpiration.
