Hey everyone, I would appreciate some critiques on this WIP. Sorry not technically porn but it's close enough and I plan on trying to make some side money doing porn commissions eventually, so..

One thing, is the slightly inconsistent outline really noticeable or distracting? Blame it on my inexperience. I'll try to be more consistent next time.

I feel like the perspective of her legs is very close to a profile, which contradicts the angle I'm describing in her torso. I also really need to sit down and learn how the fuck knees work rather than just drawing a shorthand symbol.

You should probably connect the femurs to their sockets that are on the pelvis.
Also the butt muscles shouldn't hang below the pelvis as well, it's like somebody replaced said muscles with Jello.
Sure the fat sticks out a bit, but it's like her femurs got dragged down and away from her pelvis.
Aswell the weird circular shadings that are on her tits, looks like vague eyes for some reason.
Other than that it's very nice.

The pose I guess jumps out as not quite there huh? One other person in another thread had a problem with the pose. I said then that I was trying to capture a moment during quick movement, like a jump landing or pivot (hence the hair movement), the idea isn't supposed to be that she's standing like a flamingo haha but I guess it didn't turn out. It probably is a little too slanty.

I said then that I might put her against a wall or a bar or something and turn it into a static pose. OR, I was considering adding a splashing puddle at her left foot just emphasize the quick movement?

As for her arm, I am sorry but I am not quite sure what you mean? It's not popping out at me as wrong or awkward? I'm doing the pose in the mirror. The hand is supposed to be hovering off the side of the head, not behind it, and that's how it looks to me.

I'd be curious if anyone else feels the same way about the arms/hand?

update. I reworked the legs into a cross-legged pose. I also increased the height of her hips and legs in general (noticed in the thumbnail that they didn't seem in proportion with her upper torso). still not sure if her right arm looks natural and if I should redraw her left arm (it feels a bit lazy to just hide it behind her torso and I'm not sure if it looks correct).

I decided to begin coloring some of the Pokemon pieces I have done, solely because I need the practice.

I am not satisfied with how this turned out. It does not feel right to me. Any comments and/or critiques on this piece are welcome, because I want to resolve the issues before I begin the grayscale layer.

For the right arm you could always make a layer below the layers that you have now, and draw out a proportionate line-figure with joints to see where the arm would end up.
But your drawing also looks like it could have easily hid it behind the right leg.

Overall dece, but I feel like there's a lot of awkwardness to it. It's very stiff. The characters all look like they were told to freeze and hold their position. No idea if you've studied and practiced gesture at all. The girl on the left, her arm looks like it's hyper extending. Also look at her hands. That's a very odd position for them to be in in the first place, but even if they were in that location, I think it would be naturally cupping his shoulder rather than in a position like she's holding a bike handle.

But instead I would try putting her hands flat on his chest and pushing her weight down on them. Think it would give it much more of a sense of natural weight and movement.

The guy's hand is awkward too. Try to make it cup her but more naturally.

One thing I've realized lately is that adding forced perspective jazzes up any pose. It gives the picture depth which automatically seems to make the composition more interesting even if the character is doing nothing but standing there. It's hard to pull off obviously but worth it if you can.

I've managed to build up over 3,000 tumblr followers purely by reposting (and crediting) work from popular lewd porn artists. Haven't actually done a single piece of original artwork yet and usually don't post any more than about 4 or 5 pics in one day. Do you have a good starting point for gesture and anatomy? I picked up some books from my library about perspective but they didn't have anything about gesture or anatomy

Aiming to complete this piece over the weekend, but I cannot pinpoint what feels wrong about it. There is a separate lighting between Catwoman and Batgirl that was not intended, but ultimately was the result of my inexperience. Any advice to help hone the lighting into focus?

Start by watching Proko's videos on gesture. I also recommend the book on "force" drawing by Mike Mattesi.

For anatomy start by learning major masses--Loomis' head method and box style torso. I also suggest Proko videos on these subjects.

After that it is just copy grinding parts and full poses. As well as practing gesture. Do 30 second gesture drawings as well as minute ones and some with no limit. mix it up.

What do I need to work on the most to improve?

The inside of her ears are supposed to be glowing from the light directly behind her. It that doesn't come off properly than I will need to work on that. The lights behind her might not be bright enough to cause the effect I'm looking for.

Totally agree that it needs darker values. This is a constant issue for me so it will be my main focus on my next attempt.

If you use Photoshop you can set it up so you can check values on the fly with a keyboard shortcut. It helps me, personally.

You're right about all your critique. I agree completely. Thing is I try to push out as much content as possible and it shows. On the other hand I am actually trying to get better at picking "appealing poses". Right now I can't afford this yet, but I intend to switch to doing less art and putting more time into single pieces, especially into planning compositions and settings, besides the additional polishing. First I must get better at color theory though lol.

About the skin indentation and squishing soft tissue, I didn't really learn from references (I'm an idiot and I refused to use references for a long time when I was learning and first starting drawing porn), I just always winged stuff and tried to give my art appeal. I think learning from any kind of reference is the best way to go, always. I'm realizing this way too late.
I guess porn stills and seeing how great artists handle it is what you want to do.

This guys stuff looks grotesque to me. He's like a better rendering Shadman. It's fairly obvious he traces almost all of it, but that's not the bad part. He darkens the outline of highlights on the skin giving them a pustule appearance, especially around the nipples they look like pimples. That's because breast don't really work like that. They are pushed down and to sides by gravity when nothing is stretching them together.

Think of them as two ballons of water inside the skin that can look big when they are pushed together, but they fall and split aside when nothing is doing it. Hope it helps a bit.

The strength of this work and style is its angular and subtly wacky essence
The breaks/vertices/points are what attract me the most
For this reason, in most of blonde girl's hair (which color palette I really dislike), the highlights are unappealing, as they are really bland and point-less (pun unintended)
The shading on that is kinda weird overall, though you should ask someone else about those things
The other girl's hair looks better, maybe its the color
