Is there any good resources out there to learn lineart? I am having a hard time doing them and I am trying to obey some rukes that I know of (thin at light, thick at shadows, details thin etc) and I still cant avoid it either looking flat, or looking too grimey/old.

Thanks for any kind of help...

Envision things in 3d space, first of all. Use cubes or other geometry is you have to.
Secondly keep in mind that lines don't exist in the natural world, its all values and tones.
Third, lines don't necessarily have ti get thicker towards shadow. I tend to use thicker lines where one form overlaps another, which pushes forward the overlapping form.
Standard drafting exercises can help with line flow as well.

Pretty much this

I love lineart. I use render pass to shadow/ highlight, lines just communicate forms and overlaps, and a texture to a degree. You will learn to be more loose with time, at the beginning you will likely be trying to stay too tight with your lines which is not that good especially when you draw soft surface designs.
