The features of the face dont seem to all be on the same facing plane. The eye are pretty though, I think the rendering came out nice on them, though you could make the whites of the eyes darker, since they'd be in shadow and all.

We (the1banana and NicNac) decided to ditch w's stuff for a variety of reasons, some of which include the fact that php is generally recommended against nowadays and because the old github code NicNac acquired represents a really old build.

So we're starting from scratch, which gives us more control in designing the structure, a sense of direction and an immediate understanding of the inner workings. The goal is a working (though super-rough prototype) at the end of Sunday.

We'll have a shell website up sometime soon that will show you a progress bar of sorts. It will indicate what's complete and what still needs doing.

Sorry for the delay! We're doing our best; I want this website to be the permanent, final iteration of LAS. No more parental abandoning. You now have two parents who love you very much.

In the meantime, we thought it would be fitting to have you guys decide the name for the third iteration of LAS.

Part of the reason why we're going for a new name is because we originally had LAS, then we moved to DED, which had a different name, and now we're on the third, so in moving forward, it felt right to have a new name with a three character acronym.

People end up referring to all of them as LAS anyway. The thread's /las/, and people here call themselves lassies/lassos. Even I still always referred to each of them as LAS.

Having a new name makes it feel like our project, but it'll never take away from what the project originally was. It was, and always will be /las/ in spirit.

Apologies to anyone who is not fond of the poll options! Currently KOD (Keep on Drawing) is winning, but if I see a suggestion both of us really like, we just might run with that or run one final poll between this poll's winner and the best suggested name. DAD seems to be popular among people in the Discord, too.

Anyhoo, I've got dinner and some drink in me, so I'm going to get to developing. I'll keep an eye on the thread.

focus on the lighting on the edge of the face and compare it. you're blending it out too much probably. you can also push the whites a little higher on the value scale if you want, but no big deal, it still reads convincingly. what you did with the hair was elegant

I’m thinking about just giving up. I don’t make anything that I like. I don’t even try anymore. When I started this challenge I was studying and doing gestures. But now I’m just exhausted and wondering what the point of it all is. I draw less and less and everyday my drawings become smaller and more devoid of fundamentals. I don’t think I can’t go on this way and I know that what I make isn’t worth anyone’s time.

Unlikely, but rest assured, we're focusing on quality/longevity over pumping something out quick. We just had an extended discussion on saturday on the importance of making sure our initial database structure is designed in such a way that expanding the site with features is easy, which apparently was a pain point for Lava as the site grew in complexity.
