I think this is one of the nicest of yours I've seen. I'd only say the area of the crest of Fuuya's pelvis and obliques could be defined better. Particularly I don't think the line defining it should be overlapping or even touching the line indicating the area from the last ab muscle to the pubic area from this angle. Same thing where his shoulder and armpit are, the lines aren't placed in such a way that implies the proper anatomy and structure there. Other than that, I really like this one.

I just prefer the result I get with the round brush w/ pressure for opacity and pressure for size in PS. I've tried out airbrush, binary, lead, pen etc. in Sai and couldn't really get the same kind of result, though ofc I've heard most people do it backwards (lining in Sai, colours in PS), so it's probably that I just haven't experimented enough in Sai yet and will probably find something I prefer later down the line.

I've never used Sai. Every time someone was showing it to me it crashed and I decided that was something I didn't want to deal with. I use CSP and depending on what style I'm going for I like drawing and painting with practically all the brushes. My favorite to draw and sketch with is the color pencil tool though. If you were thinking of switching to anything I'd suggest CSP for sure especially because the layout, shortcuts, and tools are all really similar to PS but more streamlined.

Looking for an artist to do monthly work with for a small comic until it's complete. I'm thinking like 6-8 pages, I'd go as high as $1400 a page depending on level or detail and color.

Well, it didn't seem like you really saw the full extent of the color correction I was suggesting to you. I made a paintover that I think helps show more clearly the kind of contrast between saturated and desaturated and warm and cool temperatures that I mentioned looking into. If you don't find it useful that's fine, I just thought you might have missed it since you came over here.

Good suggestions for shadows on the form, but I will stick to the fabric's crisper look, for it find it more appealing.

I do have problems with color corrections, for I find it drains way too much out of her character, if you understand what I am saying.

You made a lot of good points in balancing saturated shadows with desaturated light. I'll see if I can work out a balanced compromise while preserving the feel of the tones.

I didn't intend to change the rendering style from crisp and comic book-like but it was too hard for me to edit the color with just editing tools so I said fuck it and painted some of it myself. The same goes for what color you'd want to make her actual skin tone, I wasn't suggesting you make it like that or necessarily follow that as a guide at all. I only wanted to paint an example where the concept I was talking about would be immediately obvious. but i will say that you tend to rely on the same kinda calm, placid facial expressions, never much exaggeration in terms of what the face is doing (from what i've seen. you're a bit spotty when it comes to actually posting most of what you do in a place that's easy to access/archive so forgive me if you've been working on this an experimenting more and i've just missed it). i'd say study more cartoons/animation, look into what they're doing facial feature wise, also maybe some doujins you like where they have fun with the faces, noting what it is you like about how they show facial expressions and possibly working on how to implement that into your work should you think it'd fit. eyebrows, the amount and ways in which the eyes are open, how the mouth and lower jaw move about the face to help sell an emotion, how that tugs and pulls or squashes and squishes other features of the face along with it. also how to properly echo these things into the body language of a character to really sell what they're feeling (small example that doesn't work always but i sometimes like to echo the eyebrows with the character's shoulders, or use the hair or other features of the body (maybe they have a tail or kemonomimi ears or whatever) to exaggerate an expression or sell some implied movement said expression would have had before hand (anticipation/pay off from animation being a thing to possibly keep in mind here)

at the moment your work is very pretty but comes off very much as a model mugging for the camera. which isn't necessarily a bad thing! it can have it's own appeal, it just feels very staged/artificial, which of course may or may not be something that people are into. i just think this is what most of those who aren't a fan of your faces are struggling with properly articulating about what (or why) they don't like them. tho i could be completely wrong & full a shit lol. take this all with a grain of salt~

Question on comic commissions.

I have settled on raising my prices, from the ones listed on the ad, by five dollars. Rendered pieces will be increased by $10.

However, I still have no idea what to charge comic pages.

Is there a principle or guideline for artists entering the field to follow? My current guideline charges a processing fee that includes revisions, reaction shots, and a bunch of other goodies. I will be averaging between four to seven panels each page, with detailed backgrounds sparsely throughout.

What would you recommend I charge, at my skill level, per fully rendered comic page?

Eh, mediocre. 5/10. You tried to make it look better by forcing some asymmetric variation on the pose, but it backfired because it doesn't look as natural as it would otherwise. The angle point of view is pretty bad too. It looks like he's on a bed or other flat surface looking away from the camera, at someone else, but you didn't draw anyone else. It's usually better to draw characters in porn looking at the viewer because then you can add a cute/horny face to make the piece better. As it stands right now it looks very weak and doesn't leave an impression at all. If you keep drawing like this you'll just be another furry artist in a bottomless sea of furries. It's well drawn. The head looks too big to me. The pose is a little off balance, I'd say it's the closer leg that needs to be unbent slightly while the far leg is the one that should be tucked close. So basically reversing how much each one is bent now. Right now the dick looks almost like it's soft and laying on him but obviously due to his particular anatomy it must be erect. I think that would be conveyed better by having it point either more straight up or angled to the right instead of the left. Overall nice work, I like your color choices a lot.

It's normal too think if you draw a pose that's 100% symmetric it will look cheap and lacking creativity, but it's better than trying too hard to vary the pose without reason. What do you expect to achieve with those open paws? Why would his dick lay to the left side when his knee are aligned? A pose has function and intention. And the way a body part gets depends on how other body parts are. It's not a good idea to draw them differently just because you can. First you think about what a character is doing, then you draw that pose, you don't draw a pose then change the parts according to what you want the character to do.

Not really. My number of followers on my nsfw blog passed my number of followers on my sfw one within a few months. I gained them on HF pretty quickly too. The frenulum is on top, at least the way I thought it when I drew it. It was a little hard for me to work out how best to show it. Since it's supposed to be a horse dick I tried to make it look like it ends in that weird donut shape and the wrinkle on the bottom side was supposed to help indicate that, not the wrinkles where the frenulum would attach to the head. What most of you don't realize is that most of the popular artists...i mean the ones on HentaiFoundry that are always in the popular section also trace/reference most of their stuff to varying degrees. That's not to say that their stuff doesn't require alot of work and skill, but i can spot many of them that either trace or build off of 3D models. Most consumers of this stuff don't really give two shits if its traced or not....they just care that it looks good and makes them nut. You should aim not to just 1 for 1 the reference, but capture the main idea or focus and change things up a bit to make it your own. It's nearly impossible to come up with a pose or situation that doesn't already exist in a photo or video somewhere, so limiting yourself only to stuff strictly from imagination will hold you back and is a delusional waste of time.

The dick looks like it attaches too high and it's really off center, too far to the left his right. Foreshortening all over could be better. The benefit of having a reference is being able to compare your picture to it to see mistakes. I think you should take the ref and on a new layer draw some straight parallel lines from top to bottom. Use it to see things like where his heel and toe line up with his head and how long it is by comparison for instance.
