Sometimes I feel like I'll never be a successful professional in the animation industry, or even successful functioning adult at the very least.

If you can't draw, you don't have a "style" so it's pointless to grade that area of your art. You can easily get a job, even if it's only 16 hours a week. I work 20 hours a week, it's comfy. Friends are overrated. People are selfish to the point that friends are only good for chit-chatting with. Even the best of friends will stab you in the back or abandon you the second they can get a leg up in life. Connections don't matter when you have the power of social media to get noticed. Motivation is overrated bullshit. It's like sugar-filled energy drinks. Discipline > Motivation. Motivation is fleeting and useless. Discipline is constant and unwavering. Build your discipline. Go for a walk around the block. Anybody can do that. The key to changing yourself is constantly trying new things.

how do you get a job? I tried and only got a cart attendant position at target. I quit after a week because it was 10+ miles of walking each day which was a complete shock to my body from having literal no activity. I felt my legs and feet developing chronic problems so i decided to put my health above the job and quit. Now i'm just walking moderately to try and get used to walking more but i can't take a job like that again...

6 years here, and it used those 6 years to relearn, on my own, what I've been thought when I was a kid and forgot after 8 years of not drawing because stupid and though school is more important

that's right, it took me 14 years to get back to my good start, and the next few months will be a standstill until I get half a finger on my main hand amputated. Tried to repair it and did 2 operations on it, but it's still annoying me so I decided to amputate it after the holidays are over
