state university i used to go to has a program for 3d animation, is it worth going to a state school for these programs? ive heard that one of the reasons for going to art school is the connections, would opting to take an art track in a non art uni be a bad idea?

also, is 3d modeling and animation actually applicable outside of the entertainment industry? what are its applications outside movies and games?

Do you really think perspective can't be applied to animal drawing? Also line confidence? Marks class is the most useful one at your level, especially when your work is so chicken scratch.

I'm just here for the book threads and to a lesser extent some reference stuff, this thread just caught my eye, this site is really shit compared to what is used to be, especially the animation threads, there is no standard there. Looking for easy ass pats doesn't get you shit in this industry

I did the degree.

Mark becomes irrelevant after you master 2 point perspective and rendering, he doesn't know anything else after that.
Paula Jane is a gem don't take her for granted or the painting class.
Animation is CDS is not even animation, CCH2 is especially hard when grasping the animation process.
Pilar isn't an artist so can't teach you any techniques or do any demo's but she is good to ask if something looks professional or up to a standard.

If you can, start learning about TVPaint early on and teach yourself at home. Animation classes are by far the hardest to get a good grade in
