Apart from a few notes/doodles I'm on a break from studying right now, spent the last 4 hours reading and trying to understand one of these drawing books, I'm probably going to carry on after I get some food and chill for a bit, with the plan of either working back through some sections after I've finished reading it to cement the knowledge, or just using it as a reference to look back on and apply to my own OC.
We're getting serious and its fun.

I will explain my image-fucking process
1.Buy a Canon printer
2. Pour alcohol ink on the scanner in a thin translucent layer
3. Scrape the glass surface on which the image is placed
4. Scan image
The result will allow the relief of each image from the light to be covered in dank smears of pasty ink in a seemingly random pattern and, when scanned, each captured preview image and finished scan will contain a black mass that will aberrate inconsistently across all scans

You should do what others have said and build that vis-library, but in the meantime it would help to just know different garment types and their variations. Then you can customize from the base up without relying too much on reference.

You can apply pic related to women's clothing. Men's styles are more subtle in design changes and the changes tend to be more structural. For men, you either build on 3-4 existing styles or make some over-designed chuuniware. Good luck.

Also, an outfit itself is a composition. You really only want one piece to stand out and the rest can be simple, solid colored clothes.

No need for that, it's not added cause I'm lazy, not cause I don't know about it. Like so many other things. Like I've said many times, I don't have that much free time these days. Something like a dark theme could be made by anyone. If you really want it asap, what takes the longest is finding colors that look alright. You could probably steal from existing themes tho like 4chins tomorrow theme. There shouldn't be that many colors used in general on the site, like 4-5 elements recolored and the site's completely changed. If you find me some color codes for the different things, backgrounds etc on the site I can add it pretty quickly I think. Use a browser's dev tools / inspector to play around with the background-color css property of different elements.

I doubt anyone will bother doing this tho, but that's your option for now.
The next thing I plan on doing it re-doing the overlay with names on image thumbnails to look more like the ones on artstation, I think those are a lot nicer than what we've got atm.

I had a dream that my brother drew way better than me and proko was teaching me perspective in real life. I was sitting in a class looking at a projector and proko was talking about how his process of painting street hobos in the inner cities and how he just didn't want to paint them eating peas around a fire. And he was talking about ways to make perspective scene better. He was his old funny self, it actually felt real. It felt like I was learning something.

One day we will be able to use our dreams to gain art abilities while we sleep.

That's a nice dream. We do gain art abilities when we sleep. The brain keeps solving problems, and also transfers stuff to long term memory.

>> No.3214766

>>3214451
Funny dream. Why didn't he want to paint the hobos eating peas around a fire?
Also, we can use our dreams to gain art abilities while we sleep!
Like the other anon said, our sleep time is the time our brain consolidates stuff we learned in the day to long term memory and all that.
On top of that normal sleep and dream stuff, there have been studies showing that practicing things in lucid dreams helps increase skill quite a lot.
There was one study where participants practiced throwing a coin into a cup from far away. Those who practiced in real life saw a 15% improvement. Those who practiced in their lucid dreams saw an 8% improvement. The control group that didn't practice had a 0.5% improvement.
Every time you do some activity, there's the physical side of it, and the mental side of it. And while the physical action is often what brings about that mental activity, you can have that same mental activity occur without the actual physical action. So practicing something in a dream engages and strengthens those parts of the mind that would be engaged if the physical activity was actually happening. Hell, did you know that just *thinking* about lifting weights makes you stronger?
If you learn to lucid dream, then you can try anything, or put yourself in any sort of scenario, and learn from it deliberately. People have used it to overcome fears, to practice and rehearse things, explore difficult ideas, the possibilities are basically endless.

First thing, get a dream journal, write down your dreams. You need to strengthen your dream recall. Most people forget most of their dreams. It could be that you're experiencing lucid dreams every night and just don't remember.
When you wake up, don't start thinking about your day and what you're going to do, but instead think about what you were just doing. You know, what you were doing in your dream. If you think about other things, the memory of your dreams can basically disappear in seconds. You have to practice focusing on your dreams immediately as you wake up. Then write whatever you can recall, even if it's barely anything. For a dream journal, you can use an actual journal, or a word document, or whatever. It should be easy to read through later is all.
Second thing to know is how to perform a reality check. You need to be able to check if you're dreaming.
The most reliable one that I've found for myself is the "nose pinch". You pinch your nose, pressing your nostrils shut. Then you try to breathe in through your nose. If you *cannot* breathe in, that means you're awake. If, however, despite your nostrils being held closed, you *can* breathe in, then you're in a dream. My theory is that your body isn't going to stop something critical like breathing just to simulate the sensation of pinching your nose in a dream, so you can still breathe. The most important part of a reality check isn't just the action though, it's being mindful. While doing the reality check, really pay attention to it, and pay attention to your surroundings and your senses. Note what you feel, like your feet on the ground and the temperature. Note what you see, what you hear, what you smell. Ask yourself if you're dreaming and find out for sure.
Those are the two critical basics: dream recall and ability to check if you're dreaming.

The next thing is the actual techniques. The most "normal" one is called DILD. Dream Induced Lucid Dream. This is your standard lucid dream, where you're in a normal dream and realize "oh, I'm dreaming". The general way to increase the frequency of these is to be more mindful and do reality checks throughout the day. When that becomes a regular habit, you're bound to do it in a dream.
There is a more specific way, however. You can go through your dream journal, and find things that commonly appear in your dreams. Maybe it's a person you know, or a place, a certain feeling, a scenario, or an object. Find those common things. Those will be your "dream signs". Now, every time in real life you come across one of these things, do a reality check. Eventually you'll do the same in your dreams.
Those are the basics, they'll take a while. Once you're actually in a lucid dream you'll have to practice certain things to increase stability and sharpness. You should also look into the other techniques, like MILD, DEILD, and the most difficult technique: WILD. That's where you go from a waking state to a dream... without losing consciousness. It's very difficult, but it can produce dreams which are "automatically" strong and extremely realistic. There are lots of things to try, lots of variations on techniques. Just lurk around the Dream Views forums or something. And even without lucid dreams, I think keeping a dream journal is worth it. It can give great ideas, inspiration and entertainment for later. If you're really going to go for it, good luck and have fun.
