Hi, today I wanna ask you about commissions, I know that my drawings are not good enough (comparate with other artist), but some people are asking me for commissions and I don't know nothing related to it but right now I really need the money. So:

>Which platform bring me more profits?

I don't know if is better use Paypal or Patreon, or even if exist another alternative. Which one is more accessible? which one has the lowest fees?

>What kind of commissions have more profits?

I draw SFW and NSFW, but in wich one can I gain more money?

>How can I gain more audience?

I mean, there is an audience that tend to accept more "amateur" works and pays good? Like a fandom or something?

I'll add some drawings that I've made (SFW and NSFW).

That doesn't make any sense Patreon runs on subscriptions. People have to subscribe to you for you to get the money, and for at least a month because billing happens then. It's like comparing apples to oranges when it comes to "platforms". Also PayPal is just a way to send and transfer money. Not really a "platform" Are you sure you're old enough to have monetary transactions anon?

Look, I know that I aren't good as other artist, but either considered myself bad. I see other artist that have a lot of problems, and probably they draw worst than me, but they make commissions and people pay them, so at least I wanna try.

You're missing the point you don't use patreon to take commissions in the first place. You use it to gain subscribers for content you produce. It's not a "commissioning" "platform". You don't take commission on it.

Yep, I'm, maybe I just am retarded.

I'm new in all this, and I tend to confuse some concepts, for this reason I'm asking.

>> No.3204246

Op you have 6 followers on Twitter and 3 followers on deviant art. I'm also pretty sure you're too young to be on the board. There's no reason to have a patreon.

Yea patreon is for subscriptions use PayPal for commissions. Patreon... It's basically a way to support an artist while getting perks. Look into sending invoices on PayPal.

No you don't, but at least you're old enough. Anyways moral of the story is use PayPal for commissions.

>> No.3204273

My confusion maybe is because some people that I follow use the rewards like a form of commission, they put a price for something (one video, draw or similar), the other people pay that price, but stop the monthly payment once they get what they want.

A shitty form of use Patreon desu.

Are you Fek or some other butthurt furry?

Fek actually puts out work people want to see. I will concede that the 3D game he's working on is way too ambitious for an amateur to take on, leading to a fucking buggy piece of crap, but he works at least.

Fek is not a bad artist. He's decent and I got off countless times on his games.

you should worry in improve your skills, really, instead of wanting money already. Your art is a joke, and you are a 22 years male. There are 13 years old girls doing better than you. They would laught at you. You should be ashamed.

I know, I must learn a lot of things and better things like anatomy, color palette, shading and other stuff.

But right now I need money, is not like I thought gain all these money with my ugly draws, but at least I wanted to try it.

Then get a regular job if you need money and focus on improving in your free time. You are not yet good enough to take on commissions.

You're right Anon, maybe I just was a lot pretentious with this post, or at least how I wrote it. I'm really bad communicating my ideas, sometimes I don't write all that I must write and people can missinterpreted what I say.

I know that my draws lacks about a lot of things, and comparate with others artist that make commissions, my draws are pretty ugly. But some people (two or three) asked me commissions, I was happy and very exited, for this reason I opened this thread, how ever, my poor redaction and don't thinking what I write to answer others Anons make me sound like a retarded (and probably I am).

Well, this was an innecessary apologize and maybe the better was die this thread in peace, but I felt that I must do it.

btw, I'll keep improviding my draws.

Stop being such a bitch and start researching. I'll give you some genuine advice but you need to do the fucking leg work. If you want to make commissions for money, look for platforms that facilitate that. Just fucking Google art commissions, find some platforms and start signing up. Currently I'm seeing a spike in d&d character art commissions so that might be an angle to use. Next, make some pricing and time ranges, you should rather shoot lower then higher, you can raise you price when you stop having the time to complete everything and have some recommendations and reviews.

Then you can start networking, look for threads on reddit or wherever and start dropping your link.

Also, for the love of God, re-read everything you write before sending it to potential costumers. Get your friends or family to read over your profile since you seem to have some low scale autism when it comes to communicate yourself.
