Copied these ships from the Nausicaa manga by Miyazaki to learn his ways.

So much detail. I noticed that the ships are very organic, they have elements from fish, the jet streams are like faucets, there is an odd disarray to the shapes. Gives it a very steampunk vibe.

26, I fucked up the sarc with all these diagonal lines, I don't know why I fuck up boxes so much, it's always an angle off, in here it's bad.

Also, the grey blotch on the top right, for some reason the copic marker I was using decided to just spazz out out of nowhere by having so much ink coming out, I then used it on scratch paper and it the tip wasn't overloaded with ink anymore. I felt like it would be best to make both sides even so I had the other side with a blotch... Anybody know why that happened? I haven't had these markers for so long, only two weeks. It was the first time that happened, too.

I shouldn't have made the writing so close to the drawing itself either.

Couldn't stop being so irritated drawing this, I just kept on nitpicking at myself.

There are some bad tangents here you need to look out for. The near horse's front left leg has every join touching the edge of another part of his body, and the far horse's front left leg is touching the edge of its rear right leg.

The front leg being tangential with the back could be remedied by a value change, some atmosphere or shading or fuzziness in the back leg, rather than a silhouette change, since this is a colored piece and doesn't rely on line alone, even if it did, a grey wash or some kind of gradation in the back might cure something like that, depending how bad the light up in the silhouette

It still passes. The only thing I noticed was the left knee (our right) has a different pattern on her knee cap thing, and it's missing an edge, is a little larger, but I chalked that down to just being slightly different material/pattern for varieties sake.

Either way, I wasn't here to critique, just liked your drawing so thought I'd say so. I believe in giving complements when I genuinely feel them.

And I don't think a non-artist would really notice the feet. Even as a fellow artist, it doesn't look 'wrong' from an aesthetic point of view, so I think they way you did them is perfectly valid.

The more important thing on the shoes/feet is the perspective is good enough, and proportions close enough to their twin, that nothing stands out in a bad way.

Try to see things through the eyes of your followers. If you gathered them by reblogging some stuff, this means they follow your profile to get this kind of content, so when you post one of your drawings and nobody gives a fuck, it's not necessarily because your art sucks, but mostly because this isn't the content they seek. Observe other profiles with a massive following and compare how much interaction the posts with different content than the usual get in relation to the "normal" posts. For example: when an artist posts a selfie/photo with some friends at a party, when a hot girl/model posts something related to a hobby she has, etc, etc.

Also, for you two quoted (and everyone else) use as many hashtags as possible in your posts, but only hashtags that have something to do with the subject. Cheers and good luck to us all.

Oh, and another thing: a consistent style might help. This raises the chance to speak to a specific niche and build a loyal fanbase. On the other hand, if you pass too much time experimenting with styles, your followers might not like it and just unfollow you. I don't really know how to use tumblr.
