I find that men and women both generally like to draw and paint pretty girls. This is disconnected from sexuality. Plenty of straight girls enjoy drawing pin-up art, much more so than straight men draw sexy men.

I would speculate on the reasons why, but I don't have the psychological qualifications, and psychology is at least 50% snake oil anyway.

But I'll just say this: Everybody likes cute girls. Men, Women, straight, gay. It don't matter.

This is a thing that happens to even pro artists. It doesn't always detract from the picture, but it's annoying and embarrassing when it happens nonetheless. It's also something "concept artists" tend not to run into, because they stick with simple posing.

When you're drawing something like this and you need to figure out where the thumbs point, make the pose yourself and then see if you can poke your body with your thumbs.

Ive noticed when a girl draws, the curvature is a thing of beauty. The curves indicate a feminine touch and my theory has been proven right most of the time. Another is same-face syndrome and same-ish rendering style. Once a lady finds a style they like, there's very little to budge them away.

Men however take a constructionist approach (a great artist can make you forget this), so sometimes it can look stiff but the pose can be more dynamic and interesting, warped perspective and what-not. Men are the wild-card gender, they'll experiment and do wacky shit, sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. But nonetheless they lead the way and the ladies follow behind but will never innovate.
