15, sometime soon I'm gonna spend more than an hour for these again, though doing this I'm not that down on how it came out. Trying to build the mystery in this pic.

Every time I heard that when crime docs would try to pin the motives, it'd definitely had me glued and made a case more mysterious.

Thanks, I find a lot of people forget that fabric is like a separate later from the skin and behaves differently depending on what it is. It can be very fluid and fine or stiff and heavy. I'm no pro but it's all observational. I mean if you are wearing jeans and they've faded you can see how they've creased as you've worn them. There are people way more qualified than me to explain this though.

Thinking about quitting.

I'm three days behind and I can't come up with anything creative or interesting.

Six years ago I got my first (and only) art job drawing a web comic and I collapsed under the deadlines in three weeks. The same thing is happening with Inktober. It tells me I'm not cut out for professional art so there's no point in carrying on. I'll kill myself soon.

Totally same, I don't know why I feel like I have to draw something interesting. It's completely self induced stress. You could just study 15 things in your room, but you won't because not being creative is the same as just giving up.

Oops that was 18, and this is 19. I'm sad that I was late to post this as I lent my charger to someone and my phone ran out of power, then it took so long after to reboot it. I really do miss my android phone. I finished it before the day ended so I'm fine with still being consistent with that.

Anyway, I actually tried on this, and man my mapping has gone to shit. I did rush it though I did spend more than an hour on this so I'm happy. I tried to focus more on the details until I had to rush and generalize things more.

Also my reference was a picture of my dog back in 2005. Still kicking it, too.

Anybody know any exercises I can do to accurately map details? I have a general idea of following along every detail and to sort of picture them as shapes but I am still lacking. It was annoying to do a bit but getting back to art has been relieving.

the quality of the work is irrelevant. the actual point that you keep trying to avoid is that you made a useless comment about the work, on a board specifically for critiquing artwork.

even if you had said: "your art fucking sucks dude. bad. it is completely lacking in fundamentals, check out the wiki and review your basics", it would be a completely valid comment because you're actually commenting on the work and giving him somewhere to go.

just saying 'it fucking sucks' is not only useless, but makes you either look like a troll or points toward your own lack of fubdamentals. a random dude off the street could tell him that it sucks.

Draw bigger, then when u shrink down the tremors become high frequency noise

Also, drawing bigger will force you to make longer continuous strokes faster which should help with smoother lines.

Cheated with a 2-in-1 but I did it on bigger paper and it at least works thematically.

Really frustrated by my inability to scan my markers though. Anything lighter than fully saturated E00 just won't pick up, it turns into a greyish blue.
