I don't know, it's kind of pitiful to be honest. Would you rather be rewarded for mediocrity and stagnate, do something most experienced artists find worthless, or would you rather struggle and make something that inspire them.

might be cliché, but not everything rotates around money. As we speak there's probably a mentally challenged kid born in a millionaire family. this guy is the same to me. Also it's not that hard to make living money if you have a sliver of talent for something, but muh overcrowded market.

no one is hating on him. I am amazed Disney would hire people with his skill, that's it.

>> No.3152220

Some of his gesture work is decent. He knows what to focus on and get down the most important parts.

Outside of that though he takes a slight nose dive. However, this guy does seem as though he is willing to leave his comfort zone if he has to. So kudos to him, lets see him develop more and become a better artist.

Don't know if that's sarcastic, but it's probably the biggest misconception people have on /ic/. And deep down they know it's not for the money they're doing it, but sometimes they need a reason to quit or make sense of the struggle.

Hi, I would just like to point out that the guy did NOT get a job with Disney, he got a job with Mercury Filmworks, an animation studio in Ottawa, Canada, that Disney outsourced the animation for Lion Guard to. Mercury is also doing the animation for the new Mickey Mouse shorts and the soon to be released Hilda and the Troll cartoon. It's a good studio, they make good stuff (though the pay is shit) but even I've been offered a job there. All of their stuff is rig-based, so if you can pose well, have good animation fundamentals and can use Toonboom, it's not an impossible goal to reach.
