I'm a hobbyist who would like to do something professional if I have the free time later on. I don't think the vast majority of the people who might post in this thread claiming to be in the other group are ever going to do anything of note in the field.

Hobbyist that wanted a career in the field and 'gave up' on it. I admire professional artists, it's just not for me.

Hobbyist but I wouldn't reject someone if they offered to pay me to make something that wasn't repulsive. I draw for fun and study for my own satisfaction.

There's a wide spectrum of professional artists and I have different opinions about them. Feng Zhu is crazy, 'muh mental healths' bother me, those low quality mid-20s female youtube artists annoy me, but I'll be damned if I don't love doodle date. I think I like art better when it's obvious the people making it enjoy it.

I know it's not an easy career, and definitely not for everyone, I get why so many people choose to keep it as a hobby.
