Sycra, but Proko is a better teacher.

I do admit that Proko's videos have a higher production value though.

Sycra because he teachs you that every illustrator and concept artist needs too much with drawing from imagination but proko is still looks epic somebody bought his courses they worth it? im consering to buy everything from him

>> No.3124744

Sycra can create more than How To Draw tutorials. He could contribute to a team working on a product (comic, videogame, movie, etc).

i bought his extra videos when just started his channel. Proko is good for learning anatomy and how to study from reference, but his courses aren't worth it, just watch his free videos. He's not really teaching anything new, he just shows and explains with more examples.
But that is NOT necessary is you want to draw from imagination. You don't LEARN to draw from imagination, you are born with it, you either have the potential or you don't. Yes, you can learn the human anatomy and you might construct a pose, sketch a skeleton and put muscles and fat on him or her, drawing from imagination is much more than that. You have to consider the message, the setting, the character, the clothes, the haircut, additional characters, how they interact, the gravity, the perspective, the fucking point you are trying to make with your drawing and whether it's worth your fucking time. A true artist does all this without any construction or predetermined analysis, draws happily and onto the next page. You don't learn imagination, but that's what Sycra is trying to do, which is why all his drawings are cringey, pretentious, and ugly. His characters are all different for the sake of being different, without any spec of love or affection put into them. "Here is what I can do" is his message. Sycra is a craftsman, not a very good one and not a natural either. I think drawing frustrates him (it does most of us too), but he keeps on with it because he has a channel and young fans who support him. Because he built all his work and following, he can't just abandon it all, that's why he keeps struggling. But I repeat, that is not the work of an artist.

I think you're being too cynical about having imagination and artistic potential. Anyone can explore their soul. And it's not rendered invalid because you struggle with accessing it. I know lovely soulful artists that get frustrated and have to push themselves.

>A true artist does all this without any construction or predetermined analysis, draws happily and onto the next page.

Haha, no. Any artist who is good at drawing from imagination is good at VISUALIZING. That is literally constructing a scene, character or object within your mind's eye and then analyze that scene for what works and what doesn't and how to best put it on paper. Artists like you who refuse to use their brain have no chance of ever getting good at expressing anything meaningful with their art.
