I draw shit too, but you don't have to cry about it

If putting a pencil to a paper gives you this much grief, I sincerely hope that you don't get behind a wheel.

kek I literally don't understand some of the people on this board. If you clearly take such little enjoyment from the act of drawing then why fucking do it??

>> No.3060088

You want to draw well but don't want to put in any effort thus your dilemma. Perhaps drawing isn't for you.

This is at least the fourth time I've seen this exact thread with this exact image since June...
Most salty, shitposting crabs "manage these feelings" by shitting up every single thread on this now-useless board.
If you look at any feelbro meme and you find you can relate to it in any way, leave /ic/ and never come back. Pic related.

>want to be good at something

>can't even make a fruit if you're a beginner

if anyone has been a beginner before at a later age they've probably faced this frustration, if you've ever been a beginner you probably had this frustration.

loom sucks if you have no drawing art classes, alot of drawing books are written with idea that you have take a class. I would say take life drawing and read drawing the on right side of the brain or the keys of drawing

True growth comes with pain and effort, that doesn't mean you don't get to enjoy the process.

Be honest, it shouldn't ever be the way OP described. Yes of course getting competent at anything requires sustained hard work and perseverance, but there should clearly be a real passion and enjoyment underneath to push you through that. You should fundamentally passionately enjoy the act of drawing if you expect to ever get good at it, because without that you'll just end up bowing out. The view I've seen some people express here that you should only expect art making to be enjoyable once you're good at it is absolute poison.

Hijacking this thread.

My heart has been broken and I haven't been able to pick up the pen since. It's been a while and I was used to drawing almost all day. Does anyone have experience with overcoming this?

I have experience. Just takes time. Your brain is stopping you from doing other things so it has time to process the emotional loss.

Drawing to me is enjoyable as soon as I start working on something. Outside it, I am not passionate about it at all just the same way I can enjoy playing a game but I am not dying if I can't play.

Yeah, grab the pen and draw. Silence your mind, do not follow any of the thoughts that pop into your mind and just draw.

Yes happened to me last year. I wasted a good 4 months, hanging out every day with her, and another one month after trying to get over it. It was impossible to draw properly during that time, but after I found my feet again I went right back it

I feel you anon, though sometimes it's not necessarily a bad thing to take a break from drawing. Pick up a hobby or interest that takes your mind off her, and after a month or so you can return to drawing with a vengeance, filled with new inspirations.
