I print out my references, go to the library and draw for 2-3 hours before classes start in the evening. I'd say it's pretty fucking effective given the short amount of time spent.

Stop shitposting then. Make yourself a rule.
Swallow your pride, put in some time and effort, and post in beg. Who knows, you might get some helpful critique and start to improve... Or you might get shit on by somebody like yourself. Let it roll off.
...Or cry harder, rub your eyes red, and shitpost through the pain.

If you don't draw, please leave. /ic/ has enough problems.

My formula:

>get a sizable playlist of music you really like, some +1000 hand picked songs should do
>get a collection of stuff you actually want to draw, not as only as reference, but inspiration
>lot's of coconut ice cream, capuccino, yorgut, etc. empty belly and a restless tongue = no concentration
>fuck tables, get yourself a hard tablet of wood (not a tech tablet), paper and spherograpic pen,
>sit on your bed or something, you won't stay in the same position for long
>don't say you"ll feel like sleeping, faggot
>put the paper on the fucking wood tablet or so
>draw
>go walk the dog, 2 kilometers a day should do
>watch anime and shitpost when you start feeling alienated (yeah, I know...)

Currently running low on coconut ice and my playlist isn't complete. I clock 4 hours or so every day as a a smelly filthy neet. It's not 16 hours a day but I'm content with my gains so far.

Drawing protip for when not drawing:

>start imagining how things are behind themselves like you are constructing them and taking them apart
>this will get your brain aquainted with a "drawing mentality" and you pumped up to put it into action

I call this "passive gains". Basically when not drawing, think about drawing.

I don't.
I spend 10hours a day commuting and working, plus on days I go to the gym or go out.
Then at home I can only really start doing shit I like between 10pm and 1am; this includes shitposting, playing vidya, watching animu and movies, reading books and mangos AND drawing.
That's why I'm never gonna make it.

i have been doing this for a bit over a year and a half and this is 1 year progress. i drew at least 2160 hours probably closer to 2700 if you include days where i worked more. that year. i will also post my blog tkgmalice.tumblr.com so you can see where i am currently at this will be my second year of drawing as much as possible in November.
im not the shit or anything but i am at least improving a bit. and i think its worth it. im actually starting to like some of the stuff i do (not a lot but some) . and i can say that after cutting all that other stuff and really trying to get better i am over all happier as a person.

well i started by not learning properly that year ( doing studies ,gesture warm ups every day and grinding anatomy and all that what not) and only attempting from imagination with little reference. then i did the whole draw a box thing about half way in and tried to improve my methods after that. i have been doing a lot more of it. so hopefully i will be going faster soon and its kind of working i think.
but its not for everyone i suppose.

That's not true. You think it helps you focus cause you're an idiot.

Listening to music and doing another activity forces you to multitask. You can't do two things at once, no one can. Yet a lot of people are convinced they can, even though they do both activities poorly.

Don't be an idiot. Learn to fix your shit now!

>> No.3026599

>>3026405

I’m not sure that this is true. I avoided listening to music whilst I drew for long time because of this logic, but I find if I chuck some msuic on, it seems to pacify the restless procrastinating part of my brain and I can get into the drawing zone much more easily. Doesn’t seem to affect the quality if my work negatively either so imma keep doing it.

Science incoming!

Instrumental music helps focus if the environment is distracting. If that's not the case, it is indeed a crutch that decreases productivity but gives the feeling of higher productivity because your brain is stimulated.

But what the heck does it matter what someone else does? Let people do their own thing.

Basically this.
Have a goal, and make it specific. The more specific, the better.

If your shit looks bad, that means you've seen other artwork that looks "better". Figure out why that better artwork looks the way he does. Copy it, break it down, study it, then apply their methods onto yours.

I'm not going to come out and say it helps, though. I've never seen or felt any noticeable difference either way, outside of music being less annoying than annoying people making annoying noises. Any argument for or against it is founded squarely in pseudoscience.
