Let's say you had this level of skill, but you never advertised your art and no one had seen it before.

How long would it take for you to start getting paid enough to live on art from that point, if you started networking yourself?

Why is /ic/ so autistic and socially retarded?

Not op but I've gotten anxiety before.

literally go to art station and submit to the dev/art job threads and boom you have a job. no bullshit. dave is pretty much super high level. i mean if you reached daves level it would take you about 2 3 months to get a job?

LMAO

There are people getting paid enough for their art to live who have never even had their art appear on the internet once

>> No.2936442

It's frankly impossible. That level of skill requires knowing what is appealing to people and how to present subject to viewers. You don't know that as autistic fuck that doesn't interact with anyone and has no feedback, so your scenario is pure fantasy.

Nah, meet more people, there are dudes with crazy skill that aren't even on the spectrum. It's a brighter world than you think mate!

A schizoid artist would have a very hard time but if he was really good with a really unique style then it shouldn't be that bad

Such bullshit.

People are a distraction more than anything.
What exactly in OP's pic can't be achieved without being a sociable normalfag?

/ic/ retards vastly overestimate the importance of outside critique as a means of improving your work. If you have to rely on others to make steady improvement you clearly have difficulty criticizing and evaluating things on your own and the quality of your art will suffer as a result.

This.
If you're at that level of skill and have never worked before, then you'd quickly be able to make a career by simply charging less than people at a similar skill level. This will provide you with both experience and publicity.

The only thing that could stand in your way is your personality. I mean, you have people like Wakkawa, who is skilled enough to make a decent living doing art, but who's so violently autistic that I don't think anyone would be willing to work with him.

If you by networking mean "hit up potential employers all day" you're guaranteed to find a low-level job fairly quickly. Getting a more fancy position might be harder but definitely doable with that skill level.

For some reason /ic/ wannabe entrepreneurs and brandmakers and other bullshitters think that whoring yourself on twitter and tumblr is super fucking profitable while in fact it's pretty useless if you're looking for anything but making a few hundreds on patreon every month and your odd porn commission.

What counts for an employer as you start out fresh is a solid portfolio.

He literally said you can't get to that level if you're an autist, you fucking idiot. What are you even arguing?

What does /ic/ think of Dave Rapoza anyways?

I see lots of gushing of the Jaime/Mullins, but Dave is rarely talked about.

He was my biggest inspiration, before Ruan Jia. Afaik, he's pretty good.

/ic/ loves Dave Rapoza. We rarely talk about him because there's not much to say.

He's pretty good, but I don't care about most of his stuff.

Not sure why.

>> No.2937638

>>2937624
He's a solid pro and his development and work ethic is admirable, but he's far from the Mullins/Jaime tier, and like >>2937635 says his work holds pretty much zero interest for me personally.
