how can paint like this? is this gradient map with "warm colors" meme?

>> No.2927893

What staggers you so much?
Just a lot of layers, templates for the sharp edges, airbrush and lotta time.

Yeah he means either clipping masks or saved selections to work in. Neither is absolutely necessary though, you can paint the OP image on a single layer if you want.

Haha just because you haven't seen it doesn't mean it can't be done. I've done it myself and have seen other people do it, and I'm talking about pros not amateurs. if you have a large file it's easy enough to do, it just takes patience.

There is no fucking transition.

First you draw on paper.
Then after you get a tablet you draw on a computer.

That's all there is to it. Every single fundamental art skill is transferable between the two. The only extra skills you need for digital are basic shit like: how do layers work, how do blend modes work, how do masks work, how do tablets work, etc.

I've watched those videos many times and I have learn nothing
The learning materials for digital art suck terribly because they waste time on fundamentals and never focus on the medium.
Listen, I have a lot of experience with traditional media and the good books on traditional media ditch the basics and go straight to the particularities of a medium.
No resources about digital painting that I've found ever do this, they never teach you how to actually use your software and just give very vague ideas of the painting process.
It fucking enrages me that the digital art community isn't capable of producing a single fucking book on the sibject that actually teaches it like it is.

How/where do all the good anime painters on youtube learn to paint. Don't fucking say matt khor, he's a conman in the teaching business. There has to be some secret book/site/course. It's just not fair that said artist won't share their trade secrets.

All the good anime painters on YouTube are believe or not, self taught. They just copied artist's style and eventually roll with their own process. You can't really teach anime anyways unless you're a seasoned pro which would mean either an animator or mangaka.
