It's terrible, trust me and don't bother with it. The book is basically just some guy who only talks and talks and talks but doesn't ever teach you anything. It's just a game of pretend who'll just make you procrastinate for the whole length of the book. Worst artbook I have read so far I must say.

I don't think it was particularly all that good. If I recall it was like $16 plus shipping (which was probably a lot) for only 30ish pages? I'm a book buyfag and I couldn't bring myself to make the purchase.

I'm hoping we get a better LWA artbook now that the anime is in full swing. I'd gladly spend $40+ for a thicker book.

You register just like any other site. Only difference is that registration is only open for the first 15 days of every month.

Also when you get on the site, you'll notice that you have to keep your ratio of up and downloading even. Don't really worry about that since most things are free leech and don't affect your ratio.

So many of these books that I had heard about or have browsed in bookstores but could not afford them and yet knew of their importance for gitting gud at drawing.

And a few like Imaginative Realism that blew my fucking mind years ago when I picked it up in B&N but then realized most of it is just the artist/authors OC donut steel dinosaurs living amongst humans alt reality world and that didnt interest me enough to pick it up for the price it was for at the time despite how great his art was

It's from one of those Osprey military books. The artist is signed below right, is Graham Turner. The image in question is from a volume of the Warriors series; "Condottiere 1300–1500". You can probably find it on Libgen.

Turner also did some gorgeous illustrations for the Teutonic knights volume.

Yeah, these books are very easy to find scanned online. They may look meme-ish but the first volumes actually have some valuable stuff on fundamentals, perspective, etc. though it puts a lot of emphasis on the tools of traditional manga, including a whole lot of pages spent on how to cut and apply screentone which seems like a waste of time nowadays.

This, I've always found the painters who do stuff for Osprey to be particularly bad, even the "good" ones like Angus McBride and Keith Rocco. In my opinion the only legitimately good military painter nowadays is Augusto Ferrer-Dalmau.

In all fairness, I should defend those artists by pointing out that generally their focus in those Osprey illustrations is more to the veracity of the gear and clothing than to anything else. And in Osprey publications that is all that really matters.

I don't know which tutorial you're talking about, there are a few I've seen but this book is pretty damn magical, amazing illustrations. Way better than I was expecting, though a bit wordy in some places. Just read the start where she talks about the axis and medial planes etc. Which could have probably been cut down a bit.
