Sold your soul thread.

I was a promising artist once, making 2 or 3 works a day. I've been trying for about 5 years to to find a base job that pays the bills while I grow. Got a solid 7-3:30 job that makes me stare and numbers all day long to the point all I want to do at home is sleep or nothing.

Not sure what the next step is. I hate myself more a little each day, and walk by people who a blank despondent face.

In one instance I referred to a new contract being created as a city "drawing up a new contract." I was yelled at and humiliated for about 5 minutes by a manager that didn't know that drawing up a contract was common term. She told me not to start getting creative on her. Wow.

I know the feeling too well, i work at the a post sorting center, it is the easiest and the most boring job i've ever had and people still manage to fuck up their work.
The place is a image of giving up on life, everyday people saying they are going to get out one of these days but never will.
I've been forcing myself to draw everyday, even if its just a stupid doodle or a stickman, just so my hand touches the paper, i even got a timer to help myself keep track on how much i draw a day. http://neilblr.com/post/58757345346

I told myself if I ever got a job that stopped me from painting I'd instantly quit it. If I don't make/paint things, I feel hollow and depressed and unfulfilled. It's my choice, and it might be a shitty one to people, but you sound like you need it.
