Not many are like Moebius

Check Syd Mead if you haven't already, he's another pioneer of sci-fi who worked alongside him.

Definitely check Cosimo Galluzzi (pic related) who worked on Hyper Light Drifter and has an amazing vision. I love this guy, wish he did more comics work.

Moebius was a huge influence on Miyazaki when he made Nausicaa, the comic's full of imagery pulled straight from Arzach.

Geof Darrow imitates a lot of his drawing style but I (personally) don't like his work that much.

Truly amazing stuff. I may or may not have ever seen these illustrations before. But I've felt it before, just perhaps seen through someone else's vision.

It's a moving experience to intuitively recognize an artistic style or "voice". It's like recognizing a complete stranger, then discovering you have so much to talk about. I want to be recognized like that one day, but for now I'm happy to do the recognizing.

If you're into Moebius, I'd recommend checking ot Kilian Eng. He makes some really rad stuff in a somewhat similar manner.

And buy a good brush, there is a reason if basically everyone who inks with brushes uses the winsor & newton series 7.

Jared Muralt has a bit of Moebius inking in him, but not much on design.

He's still much better than the people today because he seems to understand streamlined form but I still see that ugly uninspired si fi style creeping in his work.
