Bring us your roughs, your storyboards, your pencil tests etc. THE LAST THREAD WAS ALL EAST VERSUS WEST NONSENSE. LESS TALKING MORE ANIMATING.

If you're gonna post animation that isn't yours give source or state that it isn't yours.

bouncing ball exercise on stairs, practicing spacing and timing so no squish and squash.. the vertical lines are where I planned for the ball to land but since I didn't plan the arcs in advance I had to move the landing spot a bit away. the ball comes in and goes out a bit low too.

The ball won't lift itself off the floor this instantly and it doesn't matter that you're not using squash/stretch. It's about timing.
Have you ever seen a ball bouncing off the stairs? When at its highest point, it will stay there for a while as well as lose a lot of energy with each bump, put a bit more effort into feeling the form and its weight.

Why do tweens look so cheap and fake where as two's dont? Like if i convert a tween to twos it somehow looks more "right" than a tweened motion even though it has fewer frames.

>do tweens look so cheap and fake where as two's dont?
??? Something can be on twos and still be a tween. I'm not sure I understand what you're getting at. But you probably think a tween on twos looks better than a tween on ones because tweens are usually too smooth, robotic and just uncanny. Lowering the amount of frames would probably help break up some of that robotic smoothness, but I don't think it would help that much. Got any examples?

animation is really choppy, a few inbetween frames here and there would do wonders for believability. Also each frame seems to have the same time length; I assume your source video is at least 24fps, so you should be able to do better.

But I agree it's cute as fuck.

M8, physics. You have a horizontal momentum and a vertical one, gravity only affects the vertical momentum. By conservation of energy the ball would keep most of it's horizontal speed by the end, not just come to a full stop.

How do people animate on 3s and make it actually look good? I usually animate on 2s and it's fine but when I try to do on 3s it always looks stiff and slow.

I recently watched the Shelter short film (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fzQ6gRAEoy0)) and it's animated on 3s and it looks so good, I've been going back and looking at it frame by frame and I just can't emulate the same results...how would I go about it?

Also, are there any good films/shows people can recommend that were animated on 3s?
