here's tl;dr version:
Some poles are defending "author" of that piece, because "concept art is about showing new concepts efficiently, without wasting time; therefore there's nothing wrong with using photos and it's not cheating. S-shut up".
Other poles are bitching about obvious plagiarism. They're arguing that there are no new, interesting concepts shown in that piece and making things like that is pointless. Simply adding a new background to a photo is retarded.
Another poles are arguing that there's nothing wrong with exercising your photobashing skills. After all that's the standard in this industry.

In summary: everyone's butthurt.

I don't know if 15 years is actually the correct number, but all those very old life expectancy things are lower than you would think simply because of high infant mortality rates. When most kids die before age 1 or whatever then the average gets skewed. If you lived in those time periods and made it to like 18 then you'd likely live until you were in your 40's or 50's at least.

Just looked it up: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Life_expectancy#Variation_over_time

If you lived in the paleolithic and made it to 15 then you were expected to live until 54. Keep in mind that number is lower than it could be, because a lot of people died in warfare or childbirth. People today aren't genetically different, the only reason we live longer is due to better medicine/surgery. I wouldn't be surprised if a few people back then lived until 70 or maybe even 80 before dying of disease or infection.

oh gawd this looks like some baad art class. wtf
I interned at an art school for children once and they wanted them to do a similar thing. everyone had to pick a disney/fantasy character from a folder, they copied it and blew it up on a projector for them to trace. everyone had the same generic picture in the end just so the parents would be proud their children had learned some real artz. worst class i ever witnessed

exactly. coordination they have to learn by using their own artistic expression. for example, most kids draw objects and people very freely und creatively before some adult teaches them how to do it "the proper way" and suddenly all their drawings start to look generic and unimaginative. (like a tree is drawn as a rectangle with a round shape on top or a bird in the sky looks like a mcdonalds M). of course that's a part of growing up, chidren try to fit in and copy what they see from adults. but especially when they're young it's important to give them their freedom of expression. these expectations to be able to draw a snowman a certain way can really cripple a child's confidence regarding their own way to see the world and make sense of it (which is a vital part in learning to draw since that is inherent to every child: expressing yourself by leaving imprints and processing your life and its surroundings though art). maybe this seems farfetched but it's actually pretty interesting

Those classes are intended for people who don't know how to paint (well). You don't have to buy paints, paintbrushes, etc individually so the classes are relatively cheap (ours our $20 with Groupon). And yes, they are for socializing... I've only ever gone in a group with friends and we have a blast, and our shit never comes out that great, but we laugh about it and we learn a few techniques and get better each time. It's kind of like Blue Apron or one of those other food services... by having you cook very specific things, you slowly learn how to cook. I'll never be a great painter, but I've learned that I CAN paint some things.
