I've done quite a bit of painting on the ipad with procreate this summer with a cheap five dollar stylus with no pressure sensitivity. It has been a real eye opener and really makes you think before making a mark.

I also sometimes draw without pressure sensitivty in photoshop when doing gestural stuff and laying in a figure. It can be more direct that way.

I used to use pressure sensitivity religiously, but in the last year I've re learned the value of turning it off every now and then. I usually have transfer on (which uses pressure to determine how opaque the stroke is) but it's absolutely not necessary to have shape dynamics pressure sensitivity on all the time.

Why would you even want the pressure to control both opacity and size? That's just counter-productive.

pressure sensitivity is honestly completely unneeded. As long as the brush isn't a hard pixel brush and you can color pick to blend you can do pretty well without. I never use size sensitivity but I also never do lineart.
I used to draw in sumopaint at my callcenter job all the time, used a mouse, aside from the colors being super fucked on the shitty monitors it wasn't that bad and you can still get decent blending pretty easily.
Not relying on pressure sensitivity is better on your hand/wrist too, at least for me.

There's pros and cons to painting transparently and pros and cons to opaque painting. Painting opaque takes a lot more discipline but can result in better shapes and decisions and a greater solidity. Transparency is good for subtleties and textures.

I use both but urge people to experiment using only one or the other.

I can see having pressure changing size for some lineart stuff but even then its pushing it..

I just use wacom wheel to slowly shrink the brush. I could be really bad but the size variation stuff makes it much harder to control/feel unified

When you have limited paint you consciously make decisions the make the best use of it, so that's a even better way to improve if you insist that handicapping yourselves is any useful. You lazy hypocrites just resent anything that's actually close to an arduous process. I bet you never picked up a brush in your life.

I love pressure sensitivity.
I have some brushes without it but those are mostly for backgrounds and blocking in.

Watercolors are the only ones I use traditionally because they're so cheap and last long.

Digital is best for me because it doesn't really cost anything in the long run, other than electricity but my pc is on all the time anyway so I'm not losing anything there.

Often digital turns out worse than traditional because the software adds a lot of simulated effects that don't quite match up to reality. So turning them off can provide better control and bring you closer to what you intended.
