You're comparing a veil to an entire figure. You're also comparing loose concept art to a finished character sheet. Note that Simpson's face wasn't flipped. Hell, the whole veil wasn't even flipped. Perfect symmetry looks much less jarring when it's inorganic (i.e., clothes).
