What do we draw?

>Whatever you want. At this point there's no required topic so draw your heart out. Make sure you submit at least a half hour of work or you may get a low effort warning.

What's a low effort warning?

>The goal is to get people to draw every day by turning it into a competition. The low effort warning system is to prevent people from posting last minute, quick sketches when they're feeling lazy. If you receive a warning and it happens again within a month you'll be eliminated.

>This rule has been the cause of a lot of concern amongst newer artists so let me reiterate: this system is to police low effort content and has nothing to do with the quality of the work. New artists are more than welcome.

What happens if I'm eliminated?

>A new Last Artist Standing challenge starts every week. If you get eliminated then get it together and rejoin next week.

How can there be a new Last Artist Standing challenge every week?

>This is a way to let new artists join in and to allow re-entry for the eliminated. Every week a new challenge is started. If you joined on week 1 and make it to week 2 then your daily submission counts for both the first and second Last Artist Standing. If you get eliminated then you're eliminated from both challenges and you'll be able to rejoin next week.

Will I have an advantage if I join later in the week?

>The winner of a Last Artist Standing will be the artist with the longest streak. If you join on day 1 and last until day 85 then you'll have a streak of 85. If there's only one person left in the challenge when you're eliminated but they joined on Day 7 then they'll need to continue on for another week. If they're eliminated before then, you win.

Here. I saved it years ago from a sculptor who makes some sweet stuff, I'll try find his page again. Can't remember if this was one of the clay statues he would then make a mould around and cast in bronze or if the final was polished up clay too, but there was definitely a step in the process where he smoothed things out by pouring something over her.

I messed up the boobs and torso in general but sank most of my time into the face so that's inevitable.

I had the weirdest dream about Feng Zhu last night
I met him while shopping in some grocery mart and after that we went to his school in Singapore.
It wasn't a normal school though, it was some re-purposed high rise industrial hotel thingum that was painted black both inside and outside and illuminated only by green lights
But it wasn't even a design school anymore it was more like a general purpose arts school and for whatever reason I ended up doing carpentry and wood sculpture there.
I could also draw much better in my dream than I can in real life.

I think there was also some sexual tension between Mr. Zhu and I. But no butseks occurred as far as I remember.

The way the timer works is that when you access the page the server says "how long until the deadline" and it takes 00:00:00-current time and sends that to your PC. Your pc then counts down to that number.

Because of the delays with sending and receiving information, server load times, etc, the server could say "how much time until the deadline" and then you receive that information a second or two later. The timer itself is javascript which doesn't accurately keep time but that's not really an issue unless you leave the page open for a while. That could be remedied as well and probably will be with the rework

The timer is accurate to within a couple seconds. I could even help it along by adding a second or two to help compensate for lag which I think I will. It'll screw up lonku's 00:00:00 timing but it'll help with accuracy

I almost did back in the early stages of the site but I don't like idea of having someone load the page and being told to wait to submit even if it's for a couple seconds. I actually rewrote large portions of the code so that no matter what you can submit at any time and the site will handle the submissions appropriately.

Other parts of the site get locked like topic polls for example. If you go to the page at 00:00:00 it'll tell you that the topic poll hasn't been generated yet and to refresh in a couple seconds.More features will be handled like this in the future but I want submissions to have 100% uptime

yeah, there is a lot of turd polishing going around.
actually its kind of sad. Some guys put extra effort in trying to be better, and some guys put extra effort in turd polishing.

anyways, I was aiming more to those submissions that feel finished, like if you do a commission, that's the kind of stuff you would submit. That in my opinion is very good, cause a lot of artists struggle with the finishing touches, hence I give it extra points.
