Try it out. Also keep in mind that color changes and contrast lessens with distance. The foliage on the island closer to the horizon shouldn't actually be the color of the foliage in the foreground, it would meet somewhere halfway between that and the color of the sky.

You did a good job bringing a gradient into the sky. There's subtle color changes around the horizon that should blend in with the sea and land there.
