For me? He doesn't really make anything interesting, and yet people gobble it up.

The general format being (Movie/anime still or pixiv draw-over "reference">Cute Anime face>lazy backdrop>Chromatic abberation/photo filter).

Obviously he's pretty good by himself (trained fucking russian) and maybe he's a genius for turning minimal effort into maximum profit.

It's simply not targeted for me, it's for normies.

It's a general worldwide trend, plus it's an easy way to make money. Life in Russia is hard, even $1 makes huge difference

Russians don't care for American cartoons/comics and Japanese comics are basically available for free on the internet. Russians are too poor to afford taste.

To which I would argue that it isn't wrong, but with Kr0n's format of illustration, what you see is what you get. He's not trying to move a narrative like a comic book artist would, it's fanart.
