That's dumb. Literally every artist uses social media and / or tumblr these days. If anything, there's been a move away from hosting art on "professional" websites other than for portfolios.

I do that alot

it's mainly due to depression
depression makes you feel sad all of the sudden, out of no where (even in the middle of masturbating)

you just throw logic out of the window and feel guilt/embarrassment

I deleted my SFW tumblr because it wasn't really getting noticed by anyone so I didnt see a point in keeping it. Besides, the only people that followed were my friends, a few people from /ic/ and the rest were all porn/meme bots. Meanwhile, my NSFW tumblr got like 50 new followers just 2 weeks of being created.

I draw because I enjoy it, but I need a tumblr with a large consistent following since I plan on making money from commissions sometime in the future. Depends on what the artist is doing no? If theyre working for certain companies, they may not have permission to post their work on third party sites such as tumblr, and they may not have time to make their own stuff to justify a tumblr
