It is very easy to tell apart a skilled artist who happens to draw in a certain style and a shitter who calls his flaws and lack of fundamentals his style. You are the latter. You couldn't draw or paint a decent image to save your life. Your "style" is what you hide behind because your ego is too frail to even entertain the possibility that maybe you really are as shit as everyone who has seen your art tells you.

its like you've gone so far down this path of "I'm going to mix all the colors together until they are brown" "I'm going to stop getting better at drawing and only paint the same thing over and over because it's MY THING"... i just don't know how to make you stop doing this stuff.

You can say you are satisfied all you want but holy shit I would be frustrated if every one of my paintings was the same thing and I never got any better.

You desperately need to get better at drawing.

The thing is though you are so start and stop with your work. When I say "get better at drawing" it doesn't mean spend a week on it and you'll know everything you need to know. It's something you need to work on every single day and constantly get better at.

I'll rate my own work though. I give this one a 5/10

to you it probably looks like a 10/10 but im humble like that.

If I really put thought into it I could probably count on one hand the number of 10/10 paintings. and they would probably only be picasso, van gogh paintings, the sistine chapel and the mona lisa.

I said the reason why I gave that painting a 10 / 10 instead of 12 was that I already said highest score was 10, and grading up to higher numbers make it very difficult; ergo 10 / 10. I will keep it this way, but I would have given it a 12 if I could. I cannot emphasize this enough.

then what are we disagreeing about? there has to be a highest tier of painting that isn't a category including 1000s of paintings. in terms of impact on the world the sistine chapel, the mona lisa, and starry night are 10/10s. for impact but also because they are great paintings.

although if you google "painting" it's just page after page of leonid afremov paintings so I guess he's the best artist who ever lived.

really you should be less focused about scoring and rating and just work on getting better from where you were before with each new work.
