I gotta say, I really don't like that style, so I don't think I can be completely objective so take what I say with a grain of salt. The shading seems pillowly and not very thoughtfully placed, it seems more you just made lines of shadows following the contours of your lines as opposed to treating it like a three dimensional object. the most egregious of these shadows is the one along the jaw and in the ear. If you were to shade a sphere, is that really how you would apply your shading? Treat what you're drawing as simple solids with more complicated planes.

Forgot to mention, attached pic is sort of an example of cartoony, airbrushy shading with planes and form in mind. The shadows serve to accentuate the complex forms, not just lay about because there ought to be a shadow somewhere around there.

Personally I think it would be difficult as shit to render a fur pattern with a mouse, how can you control your strokes as you would with a tablet? I tried just some simple shading with a mouse and got frustrated really quickly. Then again maybe I've been spoiled by my tablet.

Getting the right brushes is good yea, but what really makes a fur texture good is the directionality of the strokes. Short, thoughtfully placed strokes makes fur come to life. A good way to figure out how the fur should flow is by doing studies of actual animals, taking careful note of what direction the hairs are taking.

Also note in the image you posted, the artist chose to only render fur in selected areas, you don't really need to draw every hair in order to give the impression of fur. Well placed strokes will give the eye all the information it needs to understand it's fur without too many confusing details. Which is why the tail looks so shitty in comparison.

Its like drawing a tree, you wouldn't draw every tiny detail/leaf, you would get the general shape and use the light/shade to guide you on where to place leaves.

Personally I think that no matter what color you make it, it's going to read as "weirdly colored labia" since there isnt any indication it's underwear/cloth. I would recommend either getting rid of the indent in the center to make it smooth, adding seam lines along the edges, and/or giving indication of the underwear elsewhere on the body.

Also the shading is all over the place. No distinct light source, they style of shading on the face/hair doesn't match the body, and the shadow on the back looks like a rash since it's just slapped on and not really defining any planes.

I'm struggling immensely with foreshortening on that arm oh god help

The first problem I'm seeing is a lack of a consistent light source. The shading on the dick/balls don't match the shading on the rest of the body. Also, his dick looks broken. Look at the bump near the base at the top side of the sick. Anatomy if bad. mainly the measurements for the limbs and facial features.

Feet are ugly; same with the hands.

The gesture isnt really appealing. Though that may be due to the poor anatomy.

If youre trying to finish this, and dont feel like gittin gud for now, I'd say add perspective. Adjust the gesture, maybe look at some references or look in the mirror.

Once you are finished with this piece, study for a minimum of 3hrs a day

Work on construction before you add the expression unless you're thumbnailing (I find its helpful others just do mannequin faces). Spending too much time on the middle girl's face is what's making you reluctant to move and change things around now when you kinda need to.

At thsi point you might be better off starting over and keeping this one as a practice thumbnail for the expression and main idea.

Look up a reference of any girl double-jacking off guys to get the arms and hands right on the middle girl (because I notice you avoided them) and again, do construction before you get into the details more. Get the body, perspective, etc right first. I'm guilty of this too but trust me it saves a lot of headaches if you resist the temptation to jump into the fun part (the expressions and details) until after you're happy with the underdrawing.

If this is not the case and it's just a coincidence these looks like Legoman's proportions, then forget about what I said about references.

In both cases, study some freaking fundamentals. Your perspective is almost non existent and the anatomy is a mess in too many places to be able to give you a more in depth critiqe.

Thank you both for the feedback. The entire time I had been trying to side step the hard shadow because I thought it looked jarring with how everything else is colored but thats just my dumb thinking.

No Ref and i had a shitload of trouble with her left boob since the arm is raised its a bit pulled up and higher. Also had trouble with the raised leg and the orientation of the foot. My closest guess would be that the walls and under-angle make him look like a giant on the inside of a roman building, and his anatomy is pretty fucked, Theres something about his torso to his legs that seems too small, or his arms are too big and it makes his torso look small. Or, now that I notice it, the shot you chose probably should have made the foreshortening more extreme then you made it, thats probably a big part

but, like the other anon said, at this point, roll with the punches, dig to see your mistakes and learn from them. all you can do now is get better and move on. It was a nice attempt anon, look forward to your next
