Replicate, sure you may be able to replicate the style in itself with ease. The question is would you be able to capture a certain likeness?

The only area in which anime is really 'easier' is faces, the rest requires all the same knowledge of anatomy disregarding super stylized chibi-shit.

And despite falling into the camp that prioritizes gitting gud with realism before getting into stylistic drawings I'm willing to bet a lot of people who say "drawing anime is super easy symbol drawing" haven't actually drawn much anime and probably would have a difficult time drawing something visually appealing.
