/ic/ I am about to throw my life into this field.

I just need one thing... which is a plan. Did ypu guys have any entering the world of pros?

I do plan on drawing every day but what about networking? Anybody live in LA? Any ateliers I should visit and chat up? Any fucking schools I should look into? I want to be known while drawing.

Also. The drawing itself. Whats a good schedule for studies? Figure figure portrait landscape stilllife gestures or the other way around, etc?

I understand if Im being too demanding but I like to stay grounded within an order of steps, which is somethinf "doing art" doesnt give.

I think super strict schedule can be contra productive depending on your personality. I went to an atelier and the day was split in two segments. For beginners we did master copies (Bargues) in the morning and figure drawing from life in the afternoon or vice versa. I think you shouldn't try to tackle too many subjects at once. Don't spread yourself too thin. Better to immerse yourself into one or two subjects at a time. But I think it would be wise to get in a bit of life drawing every day whatever you do. Draw everyday objects, the view from your window or whatever. Just draw something from life - photos doesn't count. On the other hand, if you want to get good at drawing figures and other stuff from imagination life drawing is not enough. I've met so many artist that can draw a beautiful figure from life while their figures from imagination look like beginner stuff on deviant art. For stuff from imagination it's mainly about learning perspective (form drawing - Scott Robertson DVD's, Vilppu, Proko etc), gesture and attaining a big visual library. It's pretty straight forward, you get good (or atleast better) at what you draw alot. Also take a look at Miles and algenpfleger's sketchbooks for inspiration. Mindcandy man is pretty good too.
