Keep in mind, "Worst drawings you have available", or in other words, 'have on computer where you can find it'. People don't usually get into digital art until mid-teens (due to cost of programs/lack of knowledge, cost of tablets, etc. then again, I'm not hip with the youngin's today), and even if they do, they might delete old pics or lose them over the years. And people don't usually take the time to scan their shitty stuff.

Don't be disheartened. We all started shit, and then become slightly less shit, until eventually we're ok.

If you look at the girl alone, the lighing is wrong because I used a brush that was way too soft and light, and since it was black, the colours are wrong too. This also means there is no structure, and the proportions are also messed up. Scales are also wrong (look at the leaves on the left for example) because I worked too close to the canvas. Basically all of the fundamentals are wrong, but due to the high level of detail (it's scaled down here too, you can zoom in quite alot on the original) it seems even more fucked up.

You deserve to be a master some day. I have recently discovered the value of critiquing your own work and not being afraid of saying that something sucks when it does, then being brave and figuring out why exactly it sucks. Then being diligent and actually fixing those problems instead of wallowing in self pity for being a sucky artist. This is where hard work comes in, and those who are willing to do the work will succeed and deserve to succeed.

I think that the problem is where you place your self worth. Alot of aspiring artists place it on their work, and therefore they'll either beg for compliments, or feel worthless. If you can detach your ego from your work, I think you can do great. Place it on something that isn't a skill, like your will to improve and learn.
