Can we have a perspective and perspective help/resources thread?

I'm still trying to master the subject and make my work more dynamic. I really love 5-point perspective but it's hard to master, and it takes a really skilled person to do it on the fly. I'd like to accomplish that soon. Trouble is there is not much on the subject compared to 1,2, and 3 point perspective (the non-warped ones)
I'll post what I have and if anyone else wants to give advice or drop some pictures/videos I'd appreciate it.

that picture is great. but that's a clear example of 3 point perspective.

curvilinear perspective is just a gimmick. unless you're painting inside an sphere, or in VR you WILL have some kind of deformation.

I am trying to learn perspective and scenery now too so i don't know if this works - I literally just started 3 days ago, but I am drawing movie frames with different camera angles. I box out the big shapes in perspective, and then I am spending prob 15-20min filling in details, but you could probably gesture the frame in a couple minutes.

I get really bored with plain "box" exercises so I picked an interesting movie that I don't mind looking at frame by frame. Here are today's frames - bear with me I'm still trying out a bunch of stuff.

I'd ask if you can pass the 12 cube test as well. A lot of people seem to try these more complicated perspective exercises before they have really mastered drawing primitives.

(1) Draw 6 cube primitives from your imagination. They need to be 100% accurate to what you imagined. You should have as much variety as possible in dimensions and angle of viewpoint.

(2) Take the last cube you drew and draw it six more times from varying viewpoints keeping the volume and dimensions consistent.

I've been practicing a good deal and I'm still unable to completely the consistent volume challenge. Not that you need to to do this before doing these other exercises. But being able to definitely gives you some real mastery of the primitives.

i started practicing this a while ago. though it wasn't for perspective, it was for practicing how to put things in empty space and making up backgrounds. my sense is still pretty bad, and it often comes out flatter than i want to.

most of it is probably norling. though even after reading it i still couldn't really wrap my head around it. (i'll need to reread it sometime soon)
just recently i made some small progress by realizing that it is ok to draw close to the horizon line. that opened up some possibilities for me.

if i had to give some tips: the horizon line is where all the heights are the same, this means if a characters shoulders are at the horizon line, all other characters of the same height, standing on the same ground will have their shoulders touched by the HL as well, no matter how far away they are.
using this, if you know how high a cupboard is and what kind of cupboards there are, you can make a better guess about how to place them. the same goes for houses, windows, cats, benches and stuff. knowing the sizes of things seems to play a big part.

i'm still learning though, and the results aren't super consistent. so really take my advice with a grain of salt.

no problem.
another tip about the HL: the HL often represents the height of your viewpoint as well, you can think of it as the height of your camera or your eyes. though it's only the case when the direction you are looking at is parallel to the ground (!).

imagine holding the camera at a standing persons shoulder level. in the image, that's where the horizon line will be, meaning most heads will be above the HL while a kid's head might be below. see for example that really small panel next to the bus stop one in >>2191820
