My current style is affected by so many things, yet few I can name. Akseli Gallen-Kallela is one who captures the dusty light in a smoke sauna, that I try to study. Also Hugo Simbergs works had a strong impact while I was younger.

try looking into staff at the studio who does it and look up who works on their backgrounds if you like it. Sometimes the background artists and the animators are entirely separate groups and you might be able to find someone who just does the background art for the show.

I don't know too much about half life, but Sudra, the fourth and final chapter is already out in french without color. Barbara regularly post updates from the coloring process on her Facebook page, but I've learnt that "coming soon" means "coming in a few years" with these people... The good thing is that some English company should have been able to get the right plus a translation of the script in order by the time the colored version comes out, so hopefully we wont have to wait too long once its finally out.
