I've already noticed this in some of your previous pieces (on both female and male subjects), so maybe it's a recurring mistake. The pectorals are placed a tad too high and are out of proportion/too small. This second part with the size may be just a collateral error because of the placement.
Another thing that bothers me is the foreshortening of the legs when they're bent. Anyway, your style is very straight forward and I'm not really sure that correcting all this stuff would be a good thing. Maybe you should just try to find a compromise that caters a bit more to these anatomy issues.

I guess I'm just trying to translate an attractive male into my style while still retaining things I like to draw/find aesthetic.
Like a small waist/pecs, and big traps/lats and quads.

I tend to draw females pretty exaggerated but its in a way that doesn't translate well for a male's body. That's my main issue in drawing men, since a lot of my preferences are stifled by either looking incorrect or being anatomically impossible.
A lot of artists, and a lot of appeal that comes from 2d art, is bending proportions/perspective in a way that looks good. I don't think I've learned to apply these principles for difference subjects, but I'm going to learn.

I'm hoping to ease into drawing men by drawing these unreal proportions and slowly teach myself to forget some shortcuts I've been using.


Anyways we'll see how that goes. I admire a lot of artists who can draw males convincingly well and still work around their own style. So it's not impossible. Of course I've been studying these artists, as well.

First of all, I got burned out on porn just a few years after getting an internet connection, so the claim that people don't get tired of it is ridiculous. It's probably also why people turn to weirder and weirder fetishes.
Second, porn isn't really art, and the majority of people who make porn don't have much of an artist mentality.

Cranium proportions are wrong. Hardly any understanding of form. If you want things to look good you have to study first, either from books or courses or from life.

Colors are their own huge subject, so it might be a good idea to focus on learning how to draw before attempting them. Bad colors severely hurt any picture. They require their own study, practice and experimentation.

So as a person newer to painting ambient occlusion and still relatively "new" in the grand scheme of things (understanding form and all), how do you suppose I should paint the hair in the red circled area? My first gut instinct would be to start the shadow dark ontop of the lines and to soften them as they curve towards the camera, if that makes sense. But after experimenting it still seems a bit off. Any suggestions?
