As far as making it look like the light is directional, you're doing fine. The reason it's looking flat is because you need some hard edges where the shadows start on her body and let them fade to softness on the right. They should also be darkest near the hard edges. The other reason you're having trouble is not knowing the anatomy, therefore the planes, and therefore how to indicate them with the shadow shapes well enough to complete the illusion. But it's still good that you're trying. There's a good video about it on CTRLpaint.net let me get on my comp and see if I can find it.

Sundry your style is getting better but I don't like your painting. I'd like to see you use some sharp shapes. Your lineart can be loose and mushy like it is, but if you used some sharper, big and bold color/rendering shapes, like that one on the left chick's neck, I think it would make your stuff look better overall. Right now your rendering breaks down into a lot of little planes and noodly shapes, if you could try out simplifying them way down I think you'd like the results.

Doxy doesn't do paid comic pages anymore, but it was a decent amount of money for the work you put in. He's good at treating other artists with respect, considering he is one himself.
You aren't going to find jobs like that easily.
Most paid comic sites that host western art are "don't contact us, we'll contact you", sadly, I think this leaves a lot of talent overlooked if you're not popular enough to get noticed. Either build a fanbase, or impress someone who can hire you.

The industry standard for marvel artists per page is 190 last I remember, The pay is not far off from that, and if you're considering doing comic pages on commission I'd say go for 150+ depending on the fetish, really. That is, if you can back it up with quality.

That patti picture I posted was on commission and was for 150. It's a joint work between Brek and I, with me lining and coloring and him providing the sketch. If you wanted to know.

he's lining pages! things are going by a lot faster now since we're getting our combined efforts to mesh together well.
I'm doing the thumbnails for our current doujin, making them pretty detailed. Also he started using CSP and it's a lot faster/easier to use than PS if you're working on comic pages.
This gives him more time to draw other things he wants, so he's very happy. So if you're wonderin', I'd expect to see some new original drawings.
Also gonna try to join the splatoon contest, of course, not using our handles.

I have seen other paysites that have weekly pictures by multiple artists, I don't know what they are.

If you think you're going to need to take commissions you'd better start sewing seeds now. It took me a few months before I got any interest in commissions. Use tumblr as well, and you can also use DA but you can't post anything explicit there. You can post cropped versions or alternate clothed versions there and link back to your tumblr/FA/HF/etc.

This isn't something you can show to a non artist customer. You could show this to an art director because they know how to see what you're going for based on your previous work. Normal people are literally retarded when it comes to this. If you've drawn mostly futa they'll assume you can't or won't draw normal women even though it's the smallest leap. Like there was some guy in these threads who was looking for someone to draw big fat baras so we recommended him to a few people who drew bara but since they didn't already have a picture of EXACTLY what he wanted, even though they were clearly skilled, he assumed they couldn't meet his needs. When it comes to non artist customers, they won't understand a sketch like this, they'll think you're joking. You need to show them something as close to finished as possible, and therefore you need to charge up front.

Recently finished this. And by finished I mean calling it quits since I've been taking too long on it. Anything look wrong or off? I won't be making any changes to this drawing but I can keep an eye out for those issues in the next one.

I just try to get as much info about how they'd like the pose, the hair, and other details as I can by asking questions before I do the rough, sometimes they'll have references for you too, which helps a lot. It's not completely fool-proof, like this latest commission I've been working on I ended up posing the girl in such a way the customer didn't like all that much but in the end it didn't bother him too much. I also always offer people edits. I tell them up front that I'll draw a tight rough so they can make edits and changes once for free, and then I go to final. Any edits after final, I charge a fee. With customer service you want to try to never shut any doors, you just want to de-incentivize things that make it inconvenient for you by tacking on a fee, that way they feel it's fair because you did give them a chance to make changes, and they won't feel like you're necessarily stopping them from being picky but they'll think more carefully about what they can live with.

Just to elaborate on this a little, when it comes to that first free round of editing, if they have a change that's so major, or so many changes that I'd completely have to redraw what I've already drawn, I charge them for a new picture instead of an editing fee. If it's still only the rough stage, then basically I keep their deposit and charge a new deposit, but if I've already given them their round of edits and I've gone to final and they want me to completely redraw it, which has only happened once but still, then I still charge them the final and the deposit and final for the new one they're having me redraw.
You can do it how you want, but don't let that first free editing stage become a place where people can take advantage of you, if you use something like that.

Are there any alternatives to Paypal for a porn artist? It used to be I could take commissions and my biggest worry was Paypal freezing the account and I'd just lose whatever was in it. (I generally just took money out as soon as I was able just in case.)

After I have the general shape I go back and mask here and there to make it just transparent enough to have a milky consistency, then add a tiny bit of color here and there as I see fit. Those circular strands also give it a nice fluidity and motion too.

Masking really makes the whole thing cum together though.

Regarding quality/quantity, I meant more in the sense of higher output over better polish.
