Anyone got any tips for more efficient workflow? I tried to move from SAI to photoshop for inking since they have the best pallette and flatting tools. Also lettering and lines. In fact, the only thing I use SAI for is inking. I feel like it would streamline my process if I did everything in one program but it's not working out. I spent all day on a comic page I didn't even finish. What should I do?

People are so attention starved and desperate for popularity that they will do anything retarded. From doing free requests/art for randoms on the internet to charging moronically cheap for commissions.

The only people I let slide doing free requests are professional artists who are bored with time to kill. And by professional I mean people who actually get licensed work on the regular, have contracts, and truly remain anonymous. Those artists cost an arm and a leg to commission in the first place. None of that tumblr and patreon shit.

While we're talking about commissions and stuff, I could use some help pricing something.

People really liked that TF sequence I did and a few want to know how much I would charge for something like that. I've never done it by commission before, in fact I've generally held a policy of not doing sequential work by commission because it already takes a long time without having to go back and edit and double check with the customer. I did actually take on a comic for someone though and I'm charging $40 per page in black and white, but there's backgrounds and panel layouts and lettering, etc. So without those how much is fair to charge?

Well, I know that it's different in other countries. I managed to have a business account for my commissions and stuff and it doesn't show my name at all but I know someone from Austrailia who tried to get a paypal account and they needed his full name, bank account, and proof that he had a business. Still, there's always the looming threat of someone reporting you and getting your funds either way. If only there was a paypal just for adult stuff. There are things like paypal specifically for adult material but the thing is they're known for that, so often people will reverse their transactions because they don't want a payment through that service showing up on their statements. So those pay services charge like twice as much as paypal in terms of fees, and they hold the seller completely liable for any refunds AND additional fees for any reversed transactions. Okay here are some things that I found really helpful when I was trying to get commissions, a lot of it was advice I got here:
Definitely make a sign that shows what you charge for what, and include examples of your art on it. If you have to draw up some stuff specifically to go on the sign then great, that's more towards your post count.
You're already fanart, if you draw for /co/ and/or /v/ you can get more eyes on your stuff. I've heard bad things about /a/ so try them at your own risk.
Surf around on tumblr or wherever you're hosting (ideally you should be hosting on a number of places at once) but look for people doing similar stuff or what you want to do and follow/like/reblog as you see fit. Sometimes if you send an ask or reblog their stuff, their other followers see your name and check you out, plus it gets them to check you out. More than half my followers came from one person I follow reblogging something of mine.
So yeah, try this stuff out.

That's the beauty of the interwebs though, you can have a pretty minimal interaction with someone. In fact the less you actually say to people, the better off you are in the long run. When it comes to doing drawthreads, you don't need to say anything, merely post a link to the request and your picture with it or a link if it's lewd. If they ask for your contact info, just post your tumblr url and a brief "thanks for asking". You'll have to say more if you go through the commission process but other than that, just doing that and liking/reblogging will get you far.

Love the face but yeah there are some pretty glaring anatomy issues here. The peak of the trapezius hill shape should be pointing into the neck, not backward. The deltoids are supposed to connect at the center of the side of the arm, not the front, and your execution of the whole side of the arm, showing where the bicep, brachialis, and tricep should all fall, is...muddy. The upper leg is too short, the lower leg too long, and from a personal aesthetic sense, I feel like the foot is slightly too short. Also I'm not sure but I think the quads are a little misshapen as well. But I really love that face and your color choice and rendering.

I love the way you did the skin. Its very soft and smooth, so much that I can feel it. The choice of having the dark tail meet up with the black thigh highs becomes negative space to the viewers eyes, making him look and wonder what is behind the darkness.
