look danen, I'm going to try to word this in a way that will not just be efficient and straightforward, but hopefully will be used as a copypasta for all of those people in the same boat

stylization, in essence, is abstraction. Your not defining details to create a style, whether anime or cartooning. when you draw a face in an anime style, noses become simple triangles. taking away from realism creates stylization. with that in mind, the reason you failed is that your stylization wasn't a choice, but necessary. you crutch yourself, relying on these basic shapes without knowing how to draw what they resemble, or how they look and work before abstraction. you lack the fundamental knowledge to implement stylization as a choice, not a crutch.

the reason everyone thinks it was done by a child also probably has a lot to do with the coloring. color pencils don't really look refined when it's done in a really simple style. the table in the first panel should have been done in a ruler also. look at past cartoonists who worked in a really simple style like this. they still had very defined lines, and were generally very crisp in their delivery. check out this calvin and hobbes strip and you'll see what i mean.notice how even though its done in a really cartoony style, bill watterson still managed to make his drawings feel 3 dimensional, with the clothing, and the fluidity of the lines. this is because bill watterson had studied these things before. anyway, take some time out of your day to study things like clothing on people. then you can apply these to your strip, and still manage to make them feel depth while keeping it stylized.

Honestly, the lines themselves aren't that bad. There's worse on the stylization thread. I think another commenter pointed this out already, but half your problem is from your coloring. Been there, done that, OP! I see your dA says you use Crayolas. Is this a price issue? If so, maybe you would consider Sharpies to color with. They're much more versatile, color smoother, and the Sharpie pen will give you crisper lines, too. I think the other half of your issue is with composition. Composition doesn't come naturally to most people. I know it didn't to me! There are good tutorials on composition on both the sticky and deviantArt as well. The sticky's composition tutorials are more for illustration pieces (I see a few in your gallery, but I think you're wanting to focus on comics here?), but you should be able to find comic-centric tutorials on deviantArt as well. Your style isn't bad, it just needs something to make it stand out. You'll get that in time. Just keep practicing.

Anyway, I think there are some other good points in this thread, but they're hidden under harsh comments. I tried to point out what I could, though. Hopefully it helps.
