I got the triclops princess last thread. Here she is, made in hard lead on shitty paper. Got depressed about the draperies and gave up before filling the values with a soft pencil so I just raised the contrast a little bit. Another funny thing I found out when I did this is that the paper has a different color on its back, a little blueish, that's not the scan's problem or anything, it's the paper that sucks.

Her pose is off-kilter, very unnatural. Change the angle of the shoulders to be opposite of the hips.

And part of the reason you're having trouble with the face is you've already outlined where the cheekbone should be. Try starting off with a more box-like shape for the face, mark the middle line and eye/nose/mouth lines and toss in some eye sockets. It'll help you figure out what the face should really look like instead of sticking it in generic 3/4 view when it shouldn't necessarily be that way.

The snout's shaping and length makes her feel more generically furry in design - which can be a big turnoff for some. Something more... snubbed might be generally more aesthetically pleasing.

The original pic's a profile of the face, mostly - and doing it head on can be jarring, as many might not have interpretted those cheek bits as flaring out that much. Maybe tweak them to seem to go back along the sides of her head rather than stick out.

I'm not sure how many people saw fur/hair in her lighter colored back of the neck - making that just differently colored skin rather than hair could work.

Massively lighten the buckle on the collar so it stands out more - as is, it takes like a half second to see the latch part, when it should instantly leap out.

The toenails/claws are jarring. They curve down too much, to the point that they're going lower than the toe itself - or so it appears. This is distracting, as is the lack of such nails on the not-big-toes.

The furry base of the tail detracts from the puff of hair at the end - and in fact, I kind of assumed that was like, a charmander style blue fire. Maybe play with making it more fire-like, while minimizing the tailbase hair?

Colorize the insides of her frames - as it is I'm not really seeing those as glasses, so much as just... a sketch of glasses.

Her wings look like sheets of ice, practically, in the base pic - seeing them as fluffy and furry is jarring.

Her not-haughty, not-fussy expression seems a bit too... not-librarian?


In general, I think you made this pic too much 'generic furry' in motiff, and not enough, you know, 'DRAGON'.

As for things that worked:

The bikini seems spot on.

The finger point crotchward's a nice touch.

the thick legs seem thematically appropriate for a dragon, and the coloration in the inner thighs does a good job drawing attention.

Purple eyes seems appropriate, and it's a complementary shade.

The crown looks a hell of a lot more crown like.
