We've all been there but if you don't have a good reference and you're not experienced with anatomy it's not going to work. Thanks, and that's really good to hear about the lines, I've been trying really hard to get better line quality on my digital drawings. I was the one who drew Daisy as a trap before. I actually had intended to try for thinner lines on that one too but it didn't work out that way for me. In the end I think the pic turned out okay, and I mainly had been doing it to practice coloring so it served that purpose at least. But I'm really glad this one was more successful, heh. Although I just realized I forgot to draw the other sleeve glove thing so I need to go back and add that.

Relative to when they appeared and what media was available, Morrigan and Chun-Li are just as popular. My Little Pony came out in the 80's, even though it didn't have the new characters, it had time to build nostalgia and then they made something new recently. Mario came out then too & Peach is in new games constantly. Chun Li and Morrigan came later & hardly ever get new content, but when new games come out, there's a surge of fanart. I'd attribute the lulls in their popularity mainly to capcom not keeping them relevant and fresh, not so much because the other characters have "cute" designs. It's just that marketing to kids is usually more profitable, and developers use cute designs to try to appeal to kids, so we end up seeing those characters more, & more people want to make fanart. I still think it does. The fact of the matter is MLP was around and popular before Street Fighter and I'm pretty sure Darkstalkers as well. People might not have been directly nostalgic for it, but the name was floating around for a long time, and the original toys had already started becoming really valuable when vinyl toys started getting big, because they were out of production and people started making interesting mods of them. I'm just saying there was some pretty fertile ground for the launch of the new show and new toys, and the producers have been riding the wave and creating new stuff, unlike Capcom who just keeps letting SF slip under the surface. If they kept finding new ways to put SF out there, their characters would be just as popular, but I still think their popularity is pretty comparable to that of at least Peach, if not MLP.

But it really doesn't. MLP wasn't an important part of their childhood. It was largely ignored by them. Hearing it in passing isn't enough when you have no interest. So there is literally no reason for them to have nostalgic feelings toward something that wasn't even an integral part of their lives.
